Great Location!

Great Location, you are right in the middle of all the action of Quinta Avenida, it's not beach front so be aware it's a 12 min walk to closest beach or a shuttle ride away to kool beach. But really nice place for open minded travelers.

High on my list to never stay here again

Pros: The pool area was nice. The hot tub/Jacuzzi is almost the same temperature as the pool.
Cons: Don't stay here, find another place to spend you dinero
Location: Location is good, you are right off of 5th Avenue
The experience began right from day one. To start off, I booked a 2 bedroom suite with 2 beds in one room and a king bed in the other. After checking in, we were escorted near where our room was, and the bellboy said it was over there, pointing in a direction of where there were several rooms. We eventually found the right one, opened the door to discover it was only a king bed in a single room. Went back down to reception, informed them that was not the room I reserved. They informed us that they did not have a room available and would put us in a single room with 2 beds, and that we would have to come back the next morning to see if they would have a room for us. Went back the next day at 9 am, and initially said they didn't have a room for us to move into, but after explaining what had happened the day before, they finally found a room that they said we could be put into. We had to check out of the current room by 11, put all of our luggage in holding by reception, and then come back at 3 to check in to the new room. The new room had 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other with 2 full size beds. The AC did not work in the 2 person room, and the living space was missing a TV. The deadbolt to the room didn't work. We informed the front desk about the deficiencies, they investigated, but did nothing. Midweek, the fire alarm in one of the bedrooms went off, all they did was pull the battery, didn't even replace it.

Dear Phil, Dear We're sorry you disagreed with the location of your room, however it is to inform you that the Tukan hotel has 4 buildings radius of the main tower on the 5th. And 10 Avenida, each tower has the same services and amenities it has the main building, so it is worth mentioning that we are a 4-star hotel. I'm sure these buildings was one where he was assigned a room for your stay. We inform you that we have already taken note and will follow up with the corresponding areas so that this does not happen again. We welcome your comments about it. horrible hotel, stay away

No water un shower...

Nice aND big rooms...good security.....the rooms need more mantenance...frondesk staff are rude

Decent hotel on a budget

Pros: The size and layout of the hotel room. Very spacious. Great balcony.
Cons: The beds could be more comfortable, and proper pillows could be provided. The ones in the room looked and felt like sofa cushions.
Location: Great location. It's in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen. It's just off 5th Avenue, which gives you access to everything.
My friends and I stayed at Hotel Tukan & Beach Club in early January 2017. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our room. There were 4 of us staying together and the hotel room we received had 2 bedrooms (one large room with a king size bed and access to a gorgeous balcony with a great view, and another room with 2 double beds) and a large common area with a couch. AC in each room. The space was clean. It was nothing fancy, but that was fine with us. The only downside was that the beds were very uncomfortable. They were hard as rocks and the pillows provided looked more like sofa cushions. The cleaning staff often forgot to provide toilet paper and towels, but the front desk staff happily provided these when we asked. Overall, it was a good experience. It's a decent hotel for the price.

good location but that's it

Pros: location
Cons: Everything: water leakage, humidity, running water and room service.
Location: close to everything.
This is close to everything but did not have a pleasant stay. There was a water leakage in the shower which was reported and never fixed. Water from the sink was salty. I had to buy drinkable water to brush my teeth. The room was not comfortable and it had an unpleasant smell. I was expecting more for the money I paid.

Nice setting in middle of excitement

My shower leaked alll over my floor but they came to fix it immediately. Upgrade offered upon check in.

Great location

No phones in room, hot water is more luke warm than hot. A/C was very good. No wash cloths available.
