The price and some of the amenities such as coffee maker and the pool. I didn't lile the access to public transportation such taxi and shared rides. Some the employee need a little Customer Service training.

The hotel room is dirty and smells very bad, mold everywhere, no shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom, bedding and towels are also dirty and yellow, limited food varieties and almost nothing left after 9am, coffee tastes like water and breakfast fruits are not fresh and made my daughter had a diarrhea. It’s not a hotel! It’s more like a motel!!!

Pros: Easy access from the fwy. Secure free parking. Free breakfast. Bed was soft. Clean sheets. Room was clean! Price was good. Cons: Very dated. Rusty lampshades. Paint peeling from walls. Furniture dated and worn/damanaged. Couldn't open sliding glass door myself. Walls paper thin. For Wyndham, I expected a lot more! Whoever owns this building really needs to invest in new furniture and upgrades in the bathroom and vanity areas. The staff were fantastic!! Very friendly.

This hotel is a hidden gem! It is not close to stores and restaurants but we were looking for quiet and comfortable and that it is! The beds were so comfortable I didn’t want to leave! The breakfast was adequate but we were late so it wasn’t really fresh by the time we got there. I would definitely stay again!!

Stains on some of the sheets and furniture, hair all over the place including new sheets and some on the floor. We knew it was not our hair since we already have very short hair.

The property is tired and a lack of maintenance contributes to the overall tiredness. The breakfast is a joke. We ate at McDonalds as it was better than what was served at the hotel. The pictures on the website for the hotel are either from another hotel or taken years ago. The staff are accommodating and the rooms are clean, with comfortable beds. The outdoor pool is small and shallow and generally has leaves blowing into it all day long. Parking is acceptable and free. Overall, the hotel is adequate but only to a 3 star status and the lack of maintenance just makes you feel like the management doesn't really care.

Great stay at a solid budget option
The Wyndham Garden Playa Del Carmen is a solid choice if you know what you are getting. The rooms have most amenities, the AC is good, the shower is hot, there are blackout curtains etc. However the location is just off Highway 307 which makes it great if you spend most days driving locally or taking trips, but less walkable than being closer to 5th Avenue. The property has a pool which is ok but if you want resort style pool days then buy a day pass for a local resort with more choice. Some of the furniture is a little worn but generally in good order, readonably clean and functional. The reception and housekeeping staff were excellent and tried to help whenever asked. The breakfast is adequate with some hot food options as well as fruit, toast and cereal. Overall very good value but make sure you know what to expect.

Could be such a great hotel.
The rooms need some TLC. Our friends had a suit, furnitures were dammage. It could have been do nice. A coat of paint would go such a long way. Our bathroom had no were to put soap, shampoo etc in the shower. Felt like it was not finish. Restaurant, you cannot move chsirs around. We were 5 and couldn't all sit at the table. Only table of 2, 3 or 4.

Terrible customer service
Don’t stay here! I accidentally booked a room here after an air bnb host cancelled our condo last minute. I was by Valladolid and internet was terrible. I immediately contacted Hotels.com and then Wyndham directly to request that they cancel my reservation and refund my money. Hotels.com said that it would be up to Wyndham to choose to do so. They wouldn’t do it so I’m out $150 US because I accidentally booked a room and immediately requested that they fix it. I’m not happy with Wyndham at all and I will be talking with corporate about it. If they don’t refund my money then I will cancel my membership and never stay at another Wyndham family hotel again. What terrible customer service.
