Excellent hotel for families!

Pros: Pure quality!
We loved our stay at the Grand Velas - this is a fabulous hotel, with an amazing swimming pool. We felt special and welcome throughout. The staff were very attentive, and the food was beautiful. I'd recommend this hotel to couples and families alike.

Great setting, service was excellent! Friendly staff and great pool and spa services. Diffinetly will come back again. Family environment with teen and kids club.

All the employees and management are very nice and provide great service Service by the pool is amazing food and drinks Are good quality. 3rd time here and I will be returning definitely

Great service beach resort

Great waves, surf and boogie boards are provided. Good food, great service. Tips makes the personnel really happy (I heard their standard/regular pay is not that really good, but the service is really great. Tips meka it excellent.

Great Service, Quality Food, Excellent Staff

Pros: Room, Food, Pool Bar.
Cons: GV should be clear about when to tip and when to not.
Grand Velas offered great service, excellent food and a tremendous experience to my party. Great Stay!!

Elegant and Down to Earth Hotel and Resort

Pros: The service was extraordinarily attentive. The grounds, architecture and rooms are beautiful, tranquil and impeccably clean. Spectacular views.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: An easy 20 minutes from city life in PV, the are boating and outdoor adventures nearby. Plenty of choices on the property as well.
Spending four days at the Casa Velas Resort in Riviera Nayarit was wonderful! The property is located about 20 minutes by taxi from Puerto Vallarta. It has everything you would want or need, however, including several beautiful infinity pools leading up to the beach, where you can swim or rent kayaks or whatever you please. The suites are spacious, comfortable and sparkling clean. We enjoyed each of the restaurants, offering an enormous, well prepared buffet, and gourmet French, Italian and Mexican restaurants, with delicious contemporary gourmet food and beverage. (All included...) There is a relaxing full service spa and a gym with state of the art equipment. Most importantly, however, in addition to the beautifully landscaped grounds and architecture, well appointed rooms, the service staff is extremely attentive, making for an exceptionally pleasant stay. Highly recommended for all kinds of vacationers, from family, to business and, especially romance!

Few things need to change........

Pros: I liked the property very well taken care of. The staff was very attentive if you needed a cocktail while lounging at the pool.
Cons: The food!!
Location: It was a quick easy cab ride from airport to hotel. You could also walk the beach for miles if you wanted.
We recently got back from our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. We decided to stay at this hotel due to the 5 star rating and reviews from others. My fiancé and I travel often and have stayed at many all inclusive resorts. Overall experience was not the best. The resort itself and staff were very nice. The food was terrible in our eyes. First day we tried the buffet by the beach for lunch and dinner. Buffet food was terrible. Not 5 star by any means. There were flies and birds flying around everywhere which bothers me when it comes to buffet food. The next day tried hamburger at beach bar and it was completely raw....sent it back twice. That evening was the worst....ate at the Italian restaurant the seafood pasta dish was not cooked right. Within 4 hours I had food poisoning. Vomiting for 7 hours straight. When my fiancé told the staff they all of a sudden acted like they couldn't speak english. Long story short we left the resort and went to different resort where the food was better.

Enjoyed our stay

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Most speak English and are very polite. The resort grounds are very well maintained. Many beautiful palms and flowers. The beach was perfect and groomed every morning. The resort is 20 to 30 minutes from the downtown PV boardwalk, it cost us $10 US for the taxi ride there. The food was great, the French restaurant is a must!
