They harass you to join their "vacation" club

We were excited to finally go on a vacation to the beach and a place where we spoke the language. All we wanted was a taxi and we were directed to those people that try and get you to go to their hotel to join their vacation club. We told the guy from a different resort out of courtesy that we would go since he was covering our taxi to and from the hotel as well as tickets to Las Marietas which I wanted to see. Well as soon as we got to our resort they tried to do the same thing. I had never been to one of these before so I was sort of overwhelmed; on top of traveling for 12 hours. Needless to say I was beyond tired, hot and hangry. I did not want what anyone was offering but they were really persistent. When I told them I was tired and just wanted to go to my room. The guy said well what other presentation are you going to? What did they offer you? We can offer better. My boyfriend very sternly said that we were done talking and would be going to our room. The guy ended with ok well we will see you tomorrow morning and see what presentation you're going too. So that was that. Next our room keys stopped working 3xs. They didn't change the battery like they said they would. Our sink in the bathroom was spraying water every where as well. It was just a mess. The food was garbage. I don't go to Mexico to eat American food so we ventured out every day by taxi to eat local food. The bars closed early and it was just not what I expected. I wouldn't come back to this place at all.

Nice clean hotel!

Pros: Close to airport. Really clean. Specialty restaurants are amazing. Kids club and Teens club are cool. Shows are nice. Nice big pool. Good location.
Cons: Customer service. More waiters and bartenders are needed. Snack bar can be improved, hamburger meat did not look that great.
Location: Malecon is about 40 minutes away. Airport is only about 15 minutes away. Oxxo store is only about 10 minutes away, walking distance.
The hotel itself is very well kept. Every single area in the hotel indoors and outdoors are really clean., I appreciate the cleanliness. I like that the rooms have a mini fridge, which gets stocked up every day. We only got to try 2 specialty restaurants, which were Amalfi (Italian) and Palomas (Mexican). I have to tell you that these restaurants are excellent. Food was delicious! Not one complaint about these restaurants.Service during those reservations, were exceptional. Casa Bella is good too. Pretty sure that you can find something that you will like, but then again, I am not a picky person. The kids club is also nice, my son enjoyed being there a few hours doing fun activities. Shows are really nice too. They seem to put a lot of work into them. My complaints are that this hotel lacks customer service, it needs more waiters to provide excellent service. Also the pool bar, needs more bartenders as well.

Very nice hotel on the beach, crowded in the summe

Marival is a very nice resort. 5 pools, great restaurants for dinner and a lot of activities. It was our first Mexican all inclusive, so we weren't sure what we were getting. We got a sales pitch for their timeshare right off the bat. We went to the presentation and got a free snorkel trip. August in Nueva Vallarta is the rainy season, so the ocean isn't as blue as other times. The Marival also offers good prices to locals to fill the hotel in August, so it was crowded and a bit messy. Once we got past that and understood it was related to the season we went, we had a great time, met great people and made great memories with our family.

Great experience

I have always react to be at all inclusive resorts because of food quality. However I was impressed by the variety and quality. My family, teens and kid enjoyed and met people of many places. Great place to be.

Marival family vacation was excellent

We stayed at the Marival Hotel and we enjoyed the kids theme through out the resort. We want to see more activities for the kids and not just adults and alcohol in the pool. The pool next to our club suite was dirty...😒We had a great time, we will return.

Nice room, great view, but very poor food quality

Location: Great location, sea was amazing (warm and easy enough for the kids).
Overall really enjoyed the room, the view (had a beach view), and the kids pool (kids had a blast playing there). Unfortunately the quality of the food is below my expectations for an all-inclusive (and I'm already using a low bar typical to all-inclusives). In addition the cleanliness of the bar and how the cups were being washed was below expectations. The asian night buffet was terrible, the "Brazilian spades" restaurant was horrible. The only reasonable dinner for me was the Italian restaurant.

Kid friendly hotel

Great hotel for kids...they obviously try to sell their VIP membership, which was fine because we got a couple free excursions out of it. Clean room, friendly staff. Only complaint is that the food is mediocre. Other than that, I'd recommend it for families.

Great hotel with nice beach!

The food is good but it staying in Mexico it should be better! I would like for staff not to try to sell membership every time they have an opportunity, they put a lot of pressure!
