In search of swimming, beaching

Pros: Lovely architecture, amazing pools, fabulous beach, superlative service, phenomenal service, proximity to smaller, local town.
Cons: Availability of small dollar dominations (we needed $$ cash to pay for cabs, tips).
Location: LOVED long walk on beach, access to town (NOT PV), beach-side massages, swimmable ocean, and Nuevo Vallarta marinas for boat trips.
We chose Riviera Nayarit because of its long-stretch of beach, closer proximity to smaller, more local towns (LOVED Buciarias and Sayarita). The hotel is spectacular; lovely, spotless, food was outstanding. We chose EP (not all-inclusive) and appreciated the fresh cultural foods.

I’ll go again

This is not exactely a hotel, it is an apartment condominium resort. Same company owns the hotel next door, named Flamingo. We really like it because of its exclusiveness. Very clean, very nice and modern, quite, and the staff very friendly. The beach is not crowded, it easy to make reservation to the restaurant, fast room service. It is the perfect place to rest for a few days away from the crowds. The beach, pools, restaurant, jacuzzi, gym are in close proximity. staff members super nice. Food is very good at the pool bar and room service. The only restaurant on the property, la casana, it is a 5 Star restaurant. All inclusive guests can also access the Flamingo hotel to enjoy other 3 restaurants, entertainment, and beach gears.

Pros: Grounds and pool were very nice as was the pool staff.
Cons: Check in service. Room.
Location: Location was good.
Not impressed with the check in procedures. Took forever to check in - lots of staff milling about but only one person permitted to run credit cards. Not efficient. In addition they were not very clear on what they were charging to credit cards. Not quite the way you want to start a holiday. After all that, its 5 pm and the room isn't ready. There is absolutely no justifiable reason why a hotel room would not be ready at 5pm. When we finally get to the room it only has one king despite the staff confirming during check in that there were two queens in the room. After more confusion we get a different room but apparently was the show suite which left us with more concern about privacy and cleanliness. The room was certainly no where near a 4/5 star level and was noisy. Despite our complaint the next day, nothing was done. I then responded to expedia's check in survey two days later and got an immediate reply that something would be done. Nothing was done to address any of the complaints. Clearly the response to expedia was only aimed at expedia's audience so as to show that the hotel is responsive to complaints. Not impressed.

December Stay at Villa La Estancia

Pros: We are vegetarian, we had talked to chef and he made us special menu for 14 of us every night. It was a nice fine dining experience.
Cons: There was no water in our room and ironing board. They were suppose to keep water and some baked goody which our friends has everyday not us.
Location: Secluded location on the beach but you can get cab through the hotel. Go only with hotel for all your transportation needs.
We were four families, it took long time to check in and our rooms were not nearby. Next day they changed it. We were also not provided with the 10 minutes welcome massage. Even though our we had unlimited meals plan. We had reached at 4:45 pm, we missed our snack option, as the outside snack bar is open from 11am to 5:30 pm.They knew we were traveling for whole day but we were not informed that the food will not be available until the restaurant starts which was after 6:00 pm and it is a fine dining restaurant so we could not get food immediately.

2nd time less happy this time but love it

Pros: We love that we came back and knew some of the employees. Most are so friendly. Its beautiful and right on the beach. The rooms are fab!
Cons: Customer service. We wanted to stay one more night but they really stick it to you. If they arent full why not make it reasonable for us and for them?
When we got to the hotel they had my family separated which they had told us we were on the same floor. I had called weeks ago to make sure. I had to really complain until a manager worked with us to get it done. But we had to wait 2 hours to check in and get to the room. The weird thing is that they were only 50% full at that time. We only had 1 night that they turned down our bed but my family's bed was turned down every night and left a candy gift. While we were out the housekeeper must have broken a pane out of the shower window. We called immediately so we weren't to blame for it. They said they would send someone right up. Nobody showed for 2 days so I went to the window and we realized it was not a double pane it was open to the outside. So we called them again and they didnt call us back so I placed another call to the complaining about their service this time. It was fixed in 15 minutes. Its such a beautiful place and we love it there but the service has went down some.

Great Service and Nice Beachfront Hotel

Pros: The hydrotherapy in their SPA was excellent benefit in all inclusive package.
Cons: We could not really use their credits as they were just coupons with about 20 to 25% off of services. I wish they were at least 50% off coupons.
Location: We enjoyed Whale Watching tour one morning. It was great experience to see many whales on that day. The tour guide said we were lucky.
Our group of 4 families with 14 people really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. All the staff was very nice and courteous. Although they have only a couple of restaurants and limited vegetarian choices on the menu, they accommodated our group's requests by preparing special vegetarian items for our group of 14.

Cons: provide an option for two queen double beds instead of king/sofa bed.
All-inclusive food was excellent (non-buffet, good restaurants). Suites are not very comfortable for a family since they have a king bed and a sofa bed. Sofa bed was terrible, but the staff supplemented it with an extra bed on request. Beach is nice and has activities like parasailing, jetski, etc.

Great hotel with friendly and very helpful stall

Pros: Staff location rooms were big with an ocean view.
Cons: Nothing we liked it all.
Location: 25 minute walk on the beach to Bucceria 25 minutes from the airport 35 minutes to downtown PV
From check in to check out the staff at Villa La Estancia was exceptional. My party of 4 had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this resort but will also be booking here again.

First Mexico Trip

Pros: All the staff were super helpful and friendly, it was clean and they always checked to see if you wanted anything.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Bucerias was within walking distance, fun to walk around in.The Marina was a short cab ride away and had lots of amenities.
This was our first experience at Nuevo and it was Fantastic. The hotel is in a great location that is not super busy but close enough to other amenities and excursions. Its a bit of a drive into Puerto Vallarta but we didn't go in there anyway. The beach and Pool area are excellent and no one at our hotel bothered us with time share sales. The staff were great, Gerry at the front, Esbais and Oscar at the pool were super friendly and helpful. The resort next door was available to us and we used their restaurants but ate most of our meals at our hotel. The Steak House was excellent and breakfasts were delicious.
