Good Experience in Tunica

Pros: Clean, friendly and convenient. Surprisingly nice view.
Cons: Restaurants could be better and the casino needs to be managed better.
Location: Memphis was cool. Graceland was entertaining and Beal Street was fun.
Facility was good and the staff was accommodating. The Atrium restaurant has really bad service but the food was adequate. The casino was disappointing at times. As a craps player, the dealers were slow to pay so the games were not fun paced. Pit bosses allowed non-players to take up space at tables, players take up to much space prohibiting more players to game and did not control betting to keep the game organized and efficient. Very positive, they comped a couple of buffet tickets for our anniversary which was quite nice of them.

enjoyed my vacation at Gold Strike

Pros: everything!

everyone I encountered at Gold Strike in the hotel were simply wonderful, courteous, eager to be of assistance and just down right delightful. However the casino part of my experience was not as pleasant. Slot assistance was almost impossible even when the help button was pressed I waited more than 35 minutes for some one to come, no one came. I walked over to security and requested help, the lady called for a slot tech which showed up after another 15 or minutes. The machine was unworkable, I could not go to the bonus on the screen, nor could I get my money out of the machine. I suppose that because the casino is so large there is no one to get around to removing ash trays, used glassed or wiping down sticky machines. I carried baby wipes with me and that helped out quite a bite. However I would visit again if the opportunity presented itself.

Standing water from leaking toilet in 1st room. 2nd room had the worst bed I have ever encountered. A sack of rocks would have been more comfortable...

I will make sure to get a nonsmoking room next time. Top floors have a great view of the Mississippi River.

Great room for the price and centrally located to several casinos. Food was good and the staff was very nice. Check-in was easy.

Food Poisoning.

Cons: Food offerings and employee service training.
I got food poisoning at the very mediocre offerings at the breakfast buffet. it was either the old chopped fruit or the cheese blintzes. A women working the omelette station seemed very annoyed to be working and was very unfriendly. I requested a firm pillow and this large hotel did not have one. Room service closed early at 10 pm. the air pressure throughout the hotel was not functioning well. This presents a particular challenge with the heavy smoke radiating from the lower level casino. At 8:00 am, I requested my room to be cleaned as early as possible. When I returned to the hotel at 3:35 pm the room was still not cleaned and was not going to be cleaned until I spoke with a housekeeping supervisor on the floor.

Hotel was okay

Pros: The restaurants the food was outstanding and service was excellent. The staff at the front desk, valets were excellent.
Cons: The housekeeping staff need to be trained better.
