I made reservation with Hotels. com. Received call from Onanda that room was not available. They scrambled to make another room not normally used available for us. All went well and had a great stay.

Graciously comfortable. Very good nearby country club dining. Nearby recreation we might have enjoyed if we hadn’t lingered over a tasty breakfast shared with well met guests. And on the road to grape pie in Naples.

"Mini-moon" after wedding
We spent two days and two nights after our wedding and enjoyed the location, breakfasts, pleasant conversation with the owner/operator, hiking trails, and shoreline Onanda NYS park nearby, as well as the amenities of the City of Canandaigua. It was a very pleasant place to stay, especially in the Lakeview room as the morning sun rose over the west side of the lake and streamed into the sun porch attached to our bedroom. Cold bottled, water, chocolates, pleasant bathroom toiletries, Keurig coffee maker, and comfortable bed made it a delightful stay. Hope to go again someday, perhaps for an anniversary!

Charming, elegant B&B near lake and trail access
Linda was a delightful hostess. She welcomed our group and accommodated my need for decaf coffee and another guest's need for a low-carb diet. She was also knowledgeable about events and activities in the area and suggested good hiking trails for me. The home was pleasant, cheery and comfortable. The chocolates, trail mix, toiletries and other amenities added a nice touch of luxury. I would definitely stay here again.

The house and grounds are beautiful! Linda was a great host, very attentive to our needs. She went way out of her way to accommodate a last minute addition to our group, and even made a separate breakfast for one guest with dietary restrictions!

Lovely B&B
This is a charming old farmhouse with (I think) 3 rooms for rent. We stayed in the garden suite, which is a nicely appointed room with a queen bed. The bed was comfy and the pillows were nice. There was a keurig in the room, which was a really nice touch. The only drawback to this room is the bathroom is not in the room, and I must have overlooked this during booking. It is in the main "hallway" with all the bedrooms, so we initially thought it was a shared bathroom, and we were a bit disappointed. The inn keeper placed a privacy screen in front of the bathroom, but some of the other guests still used our bathroom (even though they had their own in their room) for part of the night. There must of been some sort of discussion, because this stopped by the end of the night, and it was "our bathroom" only again. I'm a very private person, so although the garden room was very nice, the semi-private bathroom idea wasn't for me. However, this might not be an issue for others. The grounds of the home has a trail through that woods that starts in the back yard. We did take a little hike on the trail, and it was really peaceful and beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was stuffed almond crusted French toast with sausage and fruit. It was excellent. The inn keeper was extremely friendly and shared stories about the area. We really liked her. Overall, I would recommend this B&B. If you prefer a true private bathroom, though, I would book one of the other suites here.

Comfortable and relaxing!
We had a wonderful multicourse dinner at Simply Crepes, followed by a relaxing stay at this comfortable bed-and-breakfast! The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent!

Great Place!
I stayed at Onanda on the Lake for 2 nights. It was easy to find along a beautiful lake road and close to the town. It was extremely comfortable and Linda was very nice. I highly recommend it.

Quaint Comfort
The inn is nestled on a hill overlooking Canandaigua Lake. It is an old house that has been renovated for charm and comfort. The inn keeper is lovely and makes delicious breakfasts. We loved our stay there. Since all the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator, I would not recommend this place for a person with a handicap that prohibits climbing stairs.

Great Finger Lakes Stay
This B & B was an excellent overnight stay for us. Linda, our host, was very warm and gracious to us for our 1 night stay. The breakfast was excellent, both well prepared and served. The view of Canandaigua Lake from their porch is spectacular. We highly recommend Onanda on the Lake for your next Finger Lakes adventure.

Blissful escape to the lake.
From the moment we arrived at Onanda by the Lake we were impressed by the warmth and hospitality of our lovely hostess, Linda, and her beautiful guesthouse. The rooms surpassed our expectations. We stayed in the Woodlands suite and I would choose to stay in this room again because it is quiet and more spacious than the Lakeview suite where my sister stayed. I would not personally choose any of the other rooms since I prefer to have a private bathroom en suite. Our only complaint was that our stay was too short. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully served, the accommodations superb and the location quite stunning. We did find the stairs a little steep to haul all our heavy luggage up to the first floor, but managed. (Since my husband lugged the heaviest cases!) All in all, a five star guesthouse with five star service. We hope to be back in theat beautiful part of the world again sometime - despite South Africa being a long way away.

Peaceful surroundings, elegant view & exceptional hospitality! John & Linda were great hosts. My one suggestion...for your guest book (with places to visit & restaurants to try) would be to include a page with a channel guide for the TV. Would go back again in a heartbeat!

Elegant but relaxing
Beautiful B&B that allows you to feel comfortable and relaxed. The breakfasts were delicious! We stayed in the Woodland Suite and our room was lovely. The sitting area overlooking the woods was great. There is a wooded trail leading from the back yard to a nearby state park. It was a wonderful way to spend our first afternoon. The innkeeper was very friendly and offered suggestions, calling to try to arrange a special tour for us. She was friendly without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this B&B!

This b&b is in a lovely house on a hill with a beautiful view overlooking Canandaigua Lake. Next to it is woods and the Onanda Park on a hillside and on the lake. There are hiking trails from the house through the woods and into the park. The town of Canandaigua is about 15 minutes drive, and there is also the Arbor Hill winery 15 minutes in the opposite direction. We stayed in the Lakeview suite, which includes a bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom. The breakfast was excellent: orange juice, coffee, fench toast, and fresh fruit. The hosts were absent when we arrived at 1 pm, but their daughter showed us the room, gave us the key, and gave us directions to a boat cruise. There is a very useful guestbook in the room with recommendations on local sights and restaurants. The hostess, a retired teacher, is a very warm person.
