Convenient to RIT, but needs updating.

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Major updating.
Location: Right on the edge of the RIT campus and near the University of Rochester as well. A shuttle is available to the U of R if needed.
We stay here each time we come up to Rochester because our son attends RIT and it's very convenient. The hotel is in the midst of renovations. Our floor had many doors with big blue exes on them, hopefully being renovated. The ceilings looked like there had been a water leak and were stained and chipping. The staff is very eager to please though and any requests were met immediately.

Very nice place to stay with a very nice pool area and lounge. Enjoyable, clean and very close to where we were bringing our daughter back to college at RIT.

Great location for RIT

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Location, room quality, great facility. Airport shuttle is great, too.
Cons: Breakfast at the restaurant is pretty standard fare - unremarkable.
Very clean, modern, well equipped rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. Nice pool, convenient restaurant, and great shuttle service.

Air-mattress bed did not agree with me

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: Close to R.I.T. - clean and friendly
Cons: Get rid of the air mattress beds - put regular mattresses in
Fine Hotel - nice staff, clean, great pool. The bed, however, was bad for me. It was one of those inflatable types, had a remote with numbers in an LCD display and it inflated irregularly and was most uncomfortable - did not get a good night's rest on that thing.

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Aug 14, 2015
I stayed here with my 2 teens to visit my nephew at R.I.T. It was literally right around the corner from the college, very convenient. It was a short drive to places to eat and shop. The pool was clean and huge. Hotel staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. The air conditioner was a little noisy but did not deter our sleep. Overall, very nice hotel.

Nice hotel, but a little disappointing.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Pool.
Cons: Beds.
Location: Great location. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.
Nice hotel, but the beds were terrible. They used "Sleep Number" mattresses that were awful. The TV had a remote that didn't work half the time. Some places around the hotel were in disrepair. Would have expected better for a Radisson Hotel. Pool was fantastic!

Below Average Hotel

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Close to shopping and highways if you want to avoid downtown.
Cons: Elevator, bed frames, mattresses, house-keeping diligence
I reached hotel with my family past midnight on July 04, 2015. Following were sequence of events that happened: 1. Reception staff told me that computer systems are down and she is having hard time checking-in new guest. So that took extra 15 to 20 minutes. 2. Allocated room was on 4th floor of hotel and the only way to get there was using elevator from back-side of the hotel. 3. Back side elevator was out of order and I had to walk all the way to front to inform Reception. Staff was spontaneous enough to respond and she rushed to 2nd floor to see if elevator was blocked by someone! 4. Elevator was finally declared out of order and Reception staff told me to use front elevator which they denied earlier. Finally I got an answer that there 4th floor is undergoing heavy renovation and hence they denied me using front elevator. 5. Lastly, I was advised to use the same elevator and pass the renovation area to reach my room. (I had quite a bit of luggage and also a child; so using stairs might have proven even worse). 6. Total time from entering the hotel to reaching room consumed about 45 to 50 minutes. 7. After entering the room, I saw that it was looking descent and clean; but when I looked at bathroom, there were used soaps in bathtub area. 8. Last thing, bed was totally uncomfortable. Bed frame use to make noises with every move you make regardless of sleeping or sitting! Overall, an unpleasant experience.

Check in and check out was slow. The staff did not have a clue as to what they were doing. Had to get a manager to check me in. All while my pet sat in the parking lot after a three hour ride. I witnessed another couple in the same situation while I was checking out. Not just me!!

Great place to stay if you visit RIT

Posted May 28, 2015 on Hotels
I have to wait for 50mins for the shuttle (the hotel is only 15mins away from hotel). But the front desk lady was acknowledged this problem and give me a free breakfast buffet voucher. The breakfast buffet was average (they charge $12 for that and I don't think it is worth it). Other than that, it is a great choice of place to stay if you visit RIT.
