"this is where scary movies start"

Posted Oct 25, 2016 on Hotels
The window was boarded up from the inside, none of the light switches worked... Had to use phone flashlight in bathroom bc there was no lights! No toilet paper. Large "pin" holes the size of dimes on the walls. The shower was a drippy joke - shower head litterally at breast level... Washed my hair sitting on my knees. Walls so thin we heard snoring from our neighbors. Smoke detector had wires just hanging from it- not connected to anything. Parking was difficult with such tiny marked spaces. And its not convienent to anywhere! Our hotel was overbooked with hurricane Matthew people that we ended up at this location.... Instead of gatlinburg. Will NOT be returning

When we got in the room, we killed 3 cockroaches. The light didn't work so I looked to see if it was plugged in only to find out the plug had been cut off! A woman in the room next to us asked us for drugs and at one time walked right into our room, into the bathroom where my daughter was washing up. We forfeited the outrageous room rate and left!!!! Can't believe this hotel is posted by Expedia. They just lost some credibility with us.

Horrible Experience

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Cons: Everything!
Location: This was the only good thing about the place, it was close to good food!
The place is a dump. We had to sleep with the lights on because we thought we would be eaten by morning. We would have checked in and checked right back out again if we weren't absolutely exhausted. We checked out first thing the very next morning. Probably the most horrible motel experience of my life! Not only was the room a dump, the toilet didn't flush. I would even let my pets stay there. Worse than the Bates Motel

Posted Jan 21, 2015 on Hotels
Worst hotel experience of my life. There was hair on all the towels, the sheets were yellowed, no door on the bathroom, brown water and NO hot water when it was 39 degrees outside. When confronted with my concerns the owners seemed puzzled that I had complaints. They would not refund my money. I had to go out and buy towels with which to bathe. They also didn't clean my room when I was out all day. They stated it was not standard practice. I cannot express my displeasure with my stay enough. I HATED IT!

Hotel from the 1950's. Holes in sheets & bedspreads. Air did not work well and was noisy. Bath & shower was a joke and shower head was less than 5ft. Hookers in and out. No door for the bathroom. Paint peeling. Old tube type that didn't workwell. Lamp shades broken. Could not complain to anyone. To check out you put your key in a bucket. No one there. Regular house key to open door.

Had an horrible experience! They didn't have front desk open. Sent me to room with a person that couldn't hear or see and no clue about my reservation! Room was horrible!! Very old and dirty! Had to go out and buy sheets, pillow, pillow cases, and comforter!! Terrible! Would take them off hotel.com!!!

If you need something IN Rockwood, you don't have any other choice

Posted Jul 7, 2011
This is the old Whitney Motel, a circa 1952 motel that serviced the traffic along US 27 before the interstates came. It's been through several hands in the last couple of years, and maintenance hasn't been the highest priority of any owners in the last decade. The sheets had cigarette burns and the towels were stained and not exactly white. That being said, it was safe and very close to where I needed to be. There isn't anything else in Rockwood, and you'd have to stay at the Harriman I40 exit at twice the price. Also, no ID or credit card was requested or required with the expedia printout, just in case your interested.

Never Again

Posted Aug 10, 2009 on Orbitz
Dirty bed linen; urine stains; hairs; we slept on top of the bed spreads; not enough towels; no ice machine; no hair dryer; 1 towel allotment; other tenants grilling diner outside their rooms; fire alarm taped to wall.
