Average (with a few surprises)

Posted Aug 10, 2016 on Hotels
This stay taught me to read ALL of the info regarding a hotel before you book. Arrived at 8pm. Reception closes at 7pm. Fortunately, the manager was on property and was able to check me in. Fax machine was broken. Manager did not have my reservation. Everything was done from scratch. I was given one of the last rooms available. Lucky me. Overall, the room was clean and spacious. No housekeeping seen here during my 3 night stay. Clean up after yourself. Take out your own trash. Oh well. You get what you pay for. Definitely call ahead directly to the hotel to confirm your reservation.

Excellent hotel for long visits

Posted May 6, 2014 on Hotels
For a 2 star rated hotel, when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The buildings look almost brand new, and the room was immaculate when I got in. It is an extended stay hotel, with the minimum stay being a week if booked through them. There was a decent selection of restaurants around and it was close to the major roads, without being so close that you were dealing with road noise. It is a suite with a kitchenette and all of the appliances looked brand new and were very clean. The only issue that I had was that there was a miscommunication between hotels.com and the hotel and they did not have my reservation, but were accommodating of a late arrival and willing to work out the issue the following morning. All in all I would definitely stay there again.

Pros: It was cheap and nearby to my visit.
Cons: Higher quality plates / cutlery / pots & pans. Better beds. Needs shade in the parking lot.
Location: It's right off Benvenue Rd & Wesleyan, so it's near the main attractions (from what I gathered) in Rocky Mount. Nothing really to do there though.
Only the bare necessities, spotty wifi. Bed was fairly uncomfortable. Clean and in a convenient location.

Great place to stay

Pros: price, location, quiet area
Cons: wireless internet signal a bit weak
Location: nearby mall, movie theater, lots of dining options
My room was surprisingly large even for an all-suite hotel. Property is a little "dated" but I'm not an interior decorator and didn't come to look at it anyway. Full size refrigerator was unexpected. Could easily have been rented out as an apartment. Comfortable bed and linen. Just a couple of blocks from a mall and not far off of I-95. Only negatives are very minor: no remote found for the bedroom tv but I'm old enough to remember how to push the button on the tv itself - and guess what?? It still works! The heating unit took a while to figure out the "just right" temperature but I find that happens often everywhere I stay. I'll be back in a couple of months and looking forward to staying here again.
