Beautiful resort

Posted Feb 2, 2016
This resort was impressive. The exterior is beautiful and the inside is amazing. We were instantly greeted as we walked in the entry. Provided quick service and pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room. We did visit on their off-season at the end of January. The amenities were more than expected as well. We were very pleased with our stay, the service and the overall experience.

Awesome view of the lake and mountains

Really enjoyed the lady that checked us in. She was very pleasant. The room had a great view, just felt the bed was uncomfortable. I would stay here again.

Beautiful views overlooking Lake Estes

Posted Jan 30, 2016
Pros: The room and bed were more than comfortable. Thurs night which was ladies night- great food & music in lounge. Beautiful views of the lake & mts.
Cons: There is plenty of hiking and outdoor experiences in the area, which compensates for the small pool and exercise room at the hotel.
I was warmly greeted at the front desk - checked in early and upgraded the room to one with a lake view. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The weather was beautiful although it was a windy night. A walk around the lake and then the sunny deck overlooking the lake was perfect for afternoon coffee and a book. Thurs night, being ladies night, provided friendly local people, great food and music in the lounge. Breakfast in the restaurant was perfect looking out at the lake and mountains. A relaxing stay!

Nice hotel in a gorgeous location.

Posted Oct 28, 2015
Pros: Comfortable beds, nice restaurant, gorgeous lakefront location.
Cons: No late checkout, even on Sunday morning when I'm sure that would be a slow check-in day. Disappointed by tv offerings and no option to rent a movie?
We were only there for one night, but would have enjoyed a longer stay as there was plenty to do. This hotel takes full advantage of its location with plenty of indoor/outdoor spaces.

Great views - good service

Posted Oct 23, 2015 on Hotels
After traveling all day and having to get up early the following day to teach a class, this was a wonderful oasis. Ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Staff was nice and engaging. The morning showed a fabulous view over Lake Estes with a mist hanging. Another couple asked about where they could see the infamous elk that gather through Rocky Mountain National Park this time of year and the server graciously provided some tips. As I was leaving the hotel for my class, a huge buck elk walked right across the highway in front of me(very slowly with enough time for me to grab my cell phone and take a picture). If you are looking for a nature resort with great amenities like "s'more" packages, this is the place!

Pros: waitstaff and food
Cons: Clean the beer cans and cigs off balcony. AC should work per customer needs.
Location: rocky mtn national park, stanley hotel tour
We stayed 3 days and enjoyed the national park. This hotel COULD BE a resort with some good management and in such a gorgeous location. There were beer cans and a pack of cigarettes on our balcony when we arrived. They were there all 3 days! The waitstaff was friendly and food was good.
