Two nights

The Hale Springs Inn is worth staying at just for the ancient, gorgeous planking. The staff members were pleasant and the whole building capaciously authentic. A stay is a bit of a pilgrimage to the 1800s. For the steep price, though, we had to ask for soap. More surprising was the noise: it came from the private quarters onto our third floor room at around 11 p.m. and lasted 20 mins or so--as if someone was walking around to do chores. Then at breakfast there was a pounding noise just above as if someone was cleaning or packing, Boom! Super breakfast otherwise.
