Great value for the price

Posted Jan 20, 2018
Pros: The housekeeping staff was great and also the tropical fruit for the continental breakfast.
Cons: Maybe not so much in the way of cleaning liquids used. The chemical smell was so strong that we had to air the room out. It was almost too clean...
Location: lots of great restaurants and bars. recommend the Red Onion/Cebolla Roja. No pretensions but lots of beverages to choose from. Daiquiri Dick's!!!
Others have noted that some of the shower drains have a strong smell. Our main thing was that no blankets were provided for the beds and therefore with the thin sheets you could easily get too cool. My husband almost caught a cold with going to bed with wet hair. A cotton blanket would be really nice.

Bare bones

Posted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: Location
Cons: More housekeeping
There are no luxuries at this hotel. You don't even get enough towels. When we checked in, we were surprised that our room did not have air conditioning or a TV. We had to pay extra for that. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is in the middle of everything and if you have a room in the front, you will have a nice view.

Location, Location, Location

Posted Jan 9, 2018
Pros: Staff, clean room.
Cons: Always water on the floor of the bathroom. (Leaking pipes?)
A stones throw to the beach. Not the quietest place but can’t beat the location. Within minutes walking to restaurants, bars and the beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Skip the rooftop “breakfast” and walk to Fredy’s Tucan or the Pancake House you won’t be disappointed. If you just need some coffee there’s a great little cafe just outside the door. I’ll definitely be coming back to Puerto Vallarta and the Hotel Eloisa.

nice hotel Zona Romantica

Pros: see above
Cons: Staff could be more welcoming
Location: see above
Short stayover, well located and great price. It is close to the beach, River Walk, great shopping and restaurants. We were passing through on New Years and were lucky to find this nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Great Location

Posted Jan 7, 2018
Pros: the location!!
Cons: wifi
Location: lots of shopping and restaraunts
This inexpensive hotel is in a great location, close to the Malecon. Staff were nice. Difficulties with wifi, only available in the lobby, could not use in my room. There is a bit of noise if you face the street but overall not too bad. Would stay here again

Great location--close to beach and market

Posted Jan 3, 2018
Pros: Location, appearance, and price
Cons: The desk staff could have been friendlier, but considering the amount of clients perhaps they were not so bad
Location: See above
The price, location, and building were excellent for the Christmas season when prices were $600 and more a night. We were lucky to get this hotel which is close to the beach, river walk, malecon, great restaurants. Parking was the only problem, but we were lucky to find a place in front. It is on a cul de sac so there was little noise.

Been here before

Posted Dec 29, 2017
Pros: Amenities
Cons: Nothing keep it rustic
Location: As above
Hotel friendly staff, clean and constantly improving tidiness I.e painting Great location although disappointed in street closures and tearing down old buildings replacing with new, only half completed then seem to get into legal problems and not completing projects.

Best location and price

Excellent location I wouldn't suggest any where else unless you have money to burn. Not perfect it's older but heck we only napped and slept there.

well worth the price

Posted Dec 23, 2017
Pros: Location - probably most central location in all the Old Town, adjacent to the main square. Price!! It was very clean (housekeeping staff was great).
Cons: The building is showing its age.
Location: Right in the heart of Zona Romantica.
It's a budget hotel, so don't expect all the bells and whistles. But the benefits far outweigh the negatives, so I would have no qualms staying here again. I stay somewhere in Zona Romatica every time I go to PV, and have usually chosen a hotel right on the beach. I found I generally didn't hang out on the beach specifically to where I was staying, so staying at a hotel right on the beach was not an issue. The Eloisa is only half a block from the beach. The Eloisa does not have AC, only ceiling fans, in the rooms, which for my trip in December was not an issue (daytime highs in the high 20s C, overnight lows in the low 20s C). I don't know if I'd stay here without AC in July. In general, the positives: Price (it's dirt cheap) Central location Clean The negatives: The building is getting old and run down The biggest issue with my room was that the shower stall drain was slow draining, and thus my bathroom was always flooded (there was however a drain in the bathroom floor to catch all that extra runoff) There is a tradeoff between the brightness of the rooms facing the street (that get natural sunlight) versus the rooms facing the interior courtyard which are fairly dark but which are much quieter - I personally would take the dark quiet interior rooms versus the brighter and noisier (from activities on the street) rooms facing the street.

Great Location!

Hotel Eloisa is great! Friendly staff, rooms are cosy, clean and well maintained. The rooftop deck is awesome, as is the convenient location. Bring earplugs, tho, because Old Town PV is LOUD at seemingly all times of the day and night.
