Great hotel except for.....

Posted Jul 29, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel was FANTASTIC, except for the renovations they were doing that woke us up every morning except Sunday. Was as loud as it can be. Felt like it was on the other side of the wall. They did give us free shuttle service to the airport for the inconvienience. Would have rather paid to get to the airport and slept an hour or two longer. Front desk was EXTREMELY helpful with getting us train tickets we needed, and helping us plan our days. VERY good front desk service !!

Beautiful hotel in Central Rome

Posted Jul 25, 2016
The staff were attentive & smart, the hotel facilities were good, the rooms were clean & newly done. The lighting system took a bit of practice, all very modern. There were renovations being carried out when we were there, but these did not cause problems, & we were aware of them before we arrived. Overall we had a very quiet and relaxing experience

Nice hotel, but very noisy because of construction

Posted Jul 10, 2016
Hotel is great, but they were doing major construction during our stay and we weren't notified about it before we booked. There was also a constant hum in the rooms that they never fixed, so the entire experience was pretty noisy. They should have reduced the price by half because of this major inconvenience. We came from California so we really wanted peaceful sleep and that was hard to get here. Everything else was great, but it's a pricey hotel.

Dear Sir and Dear Madame, Thank you for having chosen the Aleph Hotel during your visit to Rome and for having taken a few moments to share your experience with us. We really feel sorry to know that your stay did not meet your expectations. Regarding the communication to our valuable Guests about the construction, Please be assured that our Reservation Department regularly informs in advance all our Guests about the renovation taking place in our property. This is actually our prerogative in order to avoid possible misunderstanding. If sometimes there a lack of communication, it could depend on the fact that when Guests book through an agency, the hotel does not hold a direct email address. We investigated on your case and we can proof our correspondence with the agency on its website on the Guest messaging section. We deeply apologize anyway for any inconvenience occurred to you and if you were not informed prior arrival. We invite you to come back and visit us when the refurbishment will be over to enjoy a true memorable stay in Rome . Sincerely Yours Francesca Romana Caracciolo General Manager Hotel Aleph Rome

Great hotel in Rome with refurbished rooms

Posted Jun 28, 2016 on Hotels
This is a great hotel made even better by the faultless service and recently upgrade rooms. There were extensive renovations underway and the staff quickly apologized and offered a free breakfast as compensation, a nice touch. Stayed in a newly refurbished room which was excellent by European standards! We had a very early departure (4am) and the staff offered to arrange a breakfast box and taxi for us both of which were available as scheduled at 4-00am. The property is very nice (rooms) but the staff make the difference and set this property apart. I am a seasoned traveller and this was some of the best service I have ever had at a hotel.

Avoid!! It's a building site!

Posted Jun 14, 2016
Pros: The staff were very friendly albeit powerless to stop the drilling
Cons: Close it down while the excavations are underway
Location: Rom is small enough to walk to nearly all the attractions from Aleph - see as many as you can and go to the Sofitel roof terrace for sunset.
We booked a short break in The Aleph Hotel, and we suspected nothing was out of the ordinary - it was our wedding anniversary and we were looking forward to a romantic break. We arrived to find the hotel swathed in scaffolding and the entire ground floor lobby closed off with massive noise and building works taking place behind huge white plastic sheets. The noise was so severe we had to go to another room to be able to speak to the reception. They apologised of course and explained that in the course of renovation work they found archaeological remains and so the work had to take place under special conditions. We were offered a bottle of Prosecco and a room change (which we declined) and a free transfer back to the airport at the end of our stay (which we accepted, value 70 euros) but the drills and jackhammers continued all day, every day. Of particular annoyance was the fact that there was no lobby or bar to enjoy a relaxing drink. A local cafe some 100 yards up the road had been engaged to offer meals and drinks for guests against their room numbers. Here they too were friendly and sympathetic as they stood beneath the shadow of a four-story scaffold. Breakfast was served in the hotel but in what must have been a library, hastily converted to a makeshift dining room. It worked, but it was far from a 5 star experience.

Would Stay Here Again

Posted Jun 14, 2016
The Aleph was under renovation during our stay but there was minor inconvenience and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. The location was excellent in a quite neighborhood within walking distance of bus and subway service. We would stay at the Aleph again without any hesitation.
