Great place for families

Posted Sep 7, 2015
Pros: The staff, the restaurant, the pool and the location
Cons: The bungalow we stayed in was very dusty, the floor was dirty and I think it was probably one of the worst ones as there were only a few left.
Location: the location is perfect, within easy public transport routes to the beach at Ostia and the city centre of Rome.
stayed with my 17 year old daughter 25 aug -2nd sept. we stayed in a bungalow, more sort of a caravan without wheels, but adequate for our needs, two beds, private bathroom with shower, the room had air-con and a fridge, the site had everything you need, swimming pools, a restaurant and take-a-away bar and mini supermarket, all the staff were great, very helpful, friendly and informative, the animation team were fantastic with the children and young people, my daughter loved the zumba fitness in the pool, and the ice cream! Travel to and from the site, to the beach and the centre of Rome was really easy, maps and direction etc are found at reception or the info point on site. there are also tours provided directly to and from the site. we didn't manage to go on the pompei tour as that was full, however we went on the Rome by night tour, it was good but ruined by an annoying rude tour guide that was rushing people around, she was supposed to be an English speaking tour guide but was not that great at English and did not explain things properly, or was too far away for us to hear, she also seemed to not like English people at all by her attitude, comments and eye rolling and dirty looks. The restaurant on site and the staff were great and they did cater well for vegetarians, which myself and my daughter were happy about. There is also another restaurant/takeaway and a bigger supermarket about 15 mins walk down the road when turning right out of the site.

Stay here instead of in the city!!!!

Posted Aug 29, 2015
Cons: A shuttle to and from Rome like the other campground of theirs on the upper side of the city would be great and save loads of time. Would be worth it!
Location: Ostia Antica is close and great! Lots to do on site-plan a day just to stay here!
We had a wonderful experience here during our trip to Rome. If you are thinking of staying somewhere inexpensive in the city you can save money and probably find it will be nicer than your options there. My 11 year old LOVED this place and we already plan to return with the whole family. We stayed in a bungalow for 2 nights and felt the extra price for the air con made it worth it. We viewed the whole property and made friends who stayed in a chalet that also said it was great. The tent sites looked very nice-both the bring your own and ones provided by the camp. Our bungalow was very near the main area-some areas are quite far so check with them via email before you arrive. There seem to be tons of spaces so I think they could move you if you have trouble. The bungalow looked as pictured and everything worked. It is still a campground so it is a trailer that is a bit small and not meant to be permanent. There a picnic tables outside and you will share a wall with one other camper's bungalow. Many Italians seem to camp here in the summer with their families. We liked this and my son enjoyed the rec area next to the bar where he played fussball with kids from Ireland, the UK, and Italy. The restaurant was good, the bar as well, and the pool was super fun (go early for chairs). They had many activities at the pool and other things to do and it is also close to Ostia Antica which was AMAZING. Overall a very great deal, has a much lower city tax than a hotel too!

Delightful, air conditioned stay!

Posted Jul 31, 2015
When we arrived, it was hot! The staff were quick to check us in and told us about what was available on site. Luckily, although the cabins being metal on the outside, there is air conditioning. It was definitely worth the 'blink blonk bang' of the air-con unit. The rooms were plenty big enough for 2 sharers and the fridge was an added bonus. The rooms were clean, shower was great and the beds were comfy. On site there is everything you need - you need not actually head into Rome if all you want to do is sun-bathe! Although the pool was busy, there were plenty of sun loungers to relax on as well as a pool bar and nearby cocktail bar serving ice-cream. The supermarket stocks a wide array of foods - even gluten free biscuits, cereal and rice cakes. The restaurant also serves gluten free pizza and pasta which were amazing. At night we enjoyed a band playing at the bar and then there was singing entertainment at the cocktail bar. We always had something to do. Heading into Rome was pretty easy despite the heat. You can buy metro tickets at the info centre on site and then the bus stop is a couple of minutes walk down the road. It took about 35 minutes to get to the Colosseum from the campsite. It was also easy to get to the beach (45 mins to 1 hour on public transport) and to Hydromania (awesome waterpark). Overall, it was a great holiday and we would love to return again.

Fine for a place to rest your head after long days & evenings in the City. Staff were really helpful with advice about public transport, local supermarkets etc. Stayed in a twin bed bungalow, basic but clean.
