Excellent Italian hotel with comforts of home!

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: It resembled the feel of American hotels with the amenities you received.
Cons: The breakfast buffet is expensive and unorganized. The bacon is raw and scrambled eggs don't require olive oil if you're making them "American" style.
Location: Conveniently located behind the Vatican City. Has shuttle buses in the morning and afternoon to two different points.
Chose for location, room size, and amenities such as wifi and pool. Traveled with middle school-aged children. They loved the size of the rooms and free wifi throughout. The pool was beautiful and very well-maintained by the staff. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet several times. It's expensive so when feasible book it with your room. The rooms were dark and quiet, and nice bathrooms. The front desk staff was excellent with impeccable English. Convenient shuttle service to two destinations in Rome's Center with morning and afternoon departures. Traveled with a rental car felt completely at ease leaving it in the hotel parking lot for days without moving it. Piano Bar beautiful but costly.

Dear Lorena, Thank you for your lovely comments following your recent stay. We are glad that read that you loved the comfort of our room, the pool and excellent staff. I have shared your comments with my whole team. We are very much grateful for your compliments! On the other hand we are very sorry to read your concern about service and quality of the breakfast. I have forwarded your comments and discussed the points you have raised to our Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef and as a result we are confident they will be more vigilant to be sure that similar inconvenience will not be repeated in the future and they will take the necessary steps to continue to improve their services. Enjoying our food and beverage offer whilst staying at the Crowne Plaza Rome St. Peter’s is very much part of the overall experience so we will continue to work hard. We very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Crowne Plaza St. Peter’s on your next visit to Rome. With kind regards, Davide Grilli, General Manager

Quality hotel with great staff

Posted Aug 14, 2016
Great hotel with excellent facilities and very helpful staff. Meals and drinks are expensive but to be expected in a four star hotel. The hotel has a shuttle service to and from the centre of Rome which is really helpful. Taxis are about 10 Euros. If you want to use a sunbed you need to get up early as some people put towels on the sunbeds early and then don't use the sunbed until much later in the day, which is really frustrating. Otherwise, reasonably central to Rome's attractions ( but not walking distance).

Schönes Hotel in ruhiger Gegend

Posted Aug 13, 2016

Good choice for a hotel with a pool relatively Rom

Posted Aug 11, 2016
Pros: The pool; breakfast (but only when we ate early ... It was very busy later on); the room and its facilities
Cons: The restaurant ... poor value for money (don't mind paying if the food is well cooked)
Location: See the overall comment
We stayed for 8 nights as a family of 3. The room was comfortable, clean, well fitted and a good size for 3 adults to share. The pool was really welcomed after a hot tourist day - and the reason why we chose the hotel. We used public transport throughout the holiday; the hotel was too far out of the city for us to afford to use taxis. It wasn't a problem - we made it part of our experience. We ate once at the hotel on the first night. It was expensive and the food was not well cooked - dry chicken, overlooked fish and undercooked pasta (not al dente ... we know the difference). We chose instead to eat at Arturo -literally next door- and a gem of a find Giardino d'Abruzzo, a 5 minute walk away. Superb food! We would visit again given the same circumstances.

Godt hotel, nemt til centrum

Posted Aug 3, 2016

Not great for pedestrian lifestyle

Posted Jun 20, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel itself is ok but we were not particularly fond of the location. If you like the idea of walking to some local restaurants or shops... this hotel is not for you. You can reach the local high street in 15 minutes but you have to walk on a really narrow pavement (barely wide enough for 1 person) with busy traffic all around and no lights at night. The hotel shuttle is scheduled to reach Vatican in 15 minutes but it took us 35-40 minutes in the morning. Plus, if you want to go anywhere else than Vatican before 4 pm, there is no hotel shuttle bus and you need to take a taxi or use public transportation. Public buses are always late so don't rely on the times you find on Google maps! A journey that was supposed to take 20 minutes took us 50 minutes by public bus. Metro is ok but again, you need to walk or take a bus to the metro station. It is not that obvious when looking at a map but everything is far away for this hotel. Overall - staff was nice, we liked the pool, our room and breakfast. However we wouldn't stay again because of the location.

Dear Traveler, Thank you so much for your review of our hotel. I am pleased to read your appreciation about the staff, pool, room and breakfast. By reading your review we see that you didn’t’ find shops, restaurants (Arturo just at the doorstep of our Hotel) , bars, cafes and supermarket available in a small village 300 meters on our left hand side. The Crowne Plaza Rome-St. Peter’s is an urban resort featuring facilities that of course you won’t be able to find in a more central location such as gardens, 25m length swimming pool, pool bar, Spa, tennis courts, large comfortable bedrooms and extensive free parking facilities. It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in future. With best regards, Davide Grilli, General Manager

Very pleasant hotel in lovely grounds

Posted Jun 16, 2016
Pros: The Hotel is set in a very tranquil place and offers a pool for guests. Room was always spotless wand wifi was good.
Cons: Some parts of the Hotel could do wiyh being refreshed, but this was not a problem.
Location: The Hotel is a fair way out of the centre, however you can purchase a 1.5 euro ticket from reception, get the bus from just outside to the nearest Met
Rooms were lovely. We had a private balcony with a view of the grounds. Reception staff were very helpful. The Hotel is a fair way out of the centre, however you can purchase a 1.5 euro ticket from reception, get the bus from just outside to the nearest Metro and, still using the ticket, take the metro to where you want to go. The Hotel also offers a shuttle service. If you are a night owl you may need a cab back - cost 20 euro.
