Five Star By The VaticanPosted Nov 11, 2015
Pros: A lot.
Location: Close to Vatican, St. Peters, restaurants, bars, Castel San Angelo.
It was excellent. I booked this long trip to Europe in one night, and did not realize there was a Melia property in Rome when I booked. I have been to 58 countries and flown hundreds of time, so I know good and bad service. I had initially booked four nights at the Best Western Spring House (Avoid at all costs) for the stay in Rome, but ended up switching hotels after two nights. When I saw there was a Melia, I immediately booked the last room available. The rooms were very modern, the staff were extremely polite; (I wish I could recall all names, but Jose and Sergio from the front desk are the two that standout, Jose from check in and check out, and Sergio from a long chat about Italian history after I ran a few miles early in the morning). I had stayed at the The Level, Melia Caribe in August in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. Melia is probably my favorite European hotel and there are about 374 of them worldwide. I would write more, but if one was to stay at a Melia property, they would not need my review to appreciate it.

Superb - beautiful hotel, perfect locationPosted Oct 17, 2015
A seven night stay for myself and my wife - the hotel was fabulous, service was second to none, breakfasts were plentiful and varied. It is situated about ten minutes walk from the city centre, but just far out enough for it to be nice and quiet. Take care with taxis - they charge from the time the hotel call them and the trip to and from the airport ripped us off on the way there and tried to on the way back, but we were ready for them! Yes, it was a little expensive for food and drink, but the service and the added extras when you ordered drinks made up for this. Overall, one I'd definitely go back to, one of the best we have stayed in.

A Fantastic Holiday DestinationPosted Oct 6, 2015
Great staff make you immediately welcome, and the experience gets better from there. Wonderful facilities, albeit the gym is, as is usual in this type of hotel, very limited. Pool area is as spectacular as the photos would suggest. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and hope to return soon.

Les détails qui déçoiventPosted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Bel hôtel, bien situé. Propreté de l'hôtel. Cuisine du restaurant gastronomique excellente.Personnel parfait.

Nice, quiet retreat in RomePosted Sep 20, 2015
This hotel is a little out of the way, but worth it. It has a peaceful spa-like quality. Great staff, although breakfast staff is a bit rude. They argued with each other both mornings we were there. Otherwise, a wonderful hotel.

Old with the new.Posted Sep 14, 2015
Very nice hotel and the staff was great. An updated nunnery owned by the Vatican. I enjoyed the location and would stay there again. We upgraded to a room with a huge round tub. Looked cool, but not functional since you shower in it also. The front desk manager was excellent. She made the stay very enjoyable. The concierge staff was a bit off with getting things accomplished. The pool was really nice.

Modernt snyggt hotell centralt i RomPosted Sep 13, 2015
Kan verkligen rekommendera detta hotell! Trevlig personal. Härlig pool. Rent och modern inredning. Dock var gymet i minsta laget.

Fantastic hotel near VaticanPosted Sep 11, 2015
Myself and my wife visited the gran hotel Melia for our honeymoon. We loved where the hotel was the facilities were out of this world with spa onsite. It was really close to the Vatican and all the other monuments are all in walking distance as we went round most of them. Really happy with how we were treated from all the staff at the hotel would love to go back sometime again soon.
