Definitely not a 5-star hotel!!!

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: The room - a deluxe double - was spacious...a good size for two people.
Cons: While the room was very clean, the common areas are in need of a serious cleaning. Overall, this hotel is over-priced for what it offered/delivered.
Location: Great location. Safe, walkable. Lots of restaurants close by.
We were in Rome for only two-days following the end of a cruise. Picked this hotel based on its location and because it was so highly rated on Expedia and several other sites. The hotel is well-situated in a nice hotel district that is walkable and safe. Staff were pleasant...a tad pretentious but pleasant. The hotel room - a deluxe double - was spacious, very clean, with a modern bathroom. While the room was very clean, the hotel's common areas are not! The hallway carpet is stained and soiled, which may explain why the hallways are so dimly lit. The pinkish art deco chairs that you see in the site photos, particularly the velvety ones in the marble staircase, are disgracefully soiled...something you'd see at a truck-stop or at the curb on garbage day...not in a "5-star" hotel. As we were only in Rome for two days, we lived out of our suitcases. But if you're someone staying for a longer period or if you prefer to unpack and settle in, good luck. There was no dresser nor anywhere to put your clothes and toiletries, save a smallish closet with a few hangers and two cutlery-sized drawers. There wasn't a closet or someplace to put your suitcases. With numerous options within walking distance for food and drinks, the onsite restaurant and bar are way over priced, likely the main reason why it was always empty. The cost in in-room mini-bar items was equally outrageous! Needless to say, we bought bottled water and snacks while we were out to take back to our room.

Nice hotel a short walk to city sights but in a quieter location that is a lovely escape at the end of a busy sightseeing day

Nice and clean hotel. Small rooms, but if you there for history and more it's shouldn't be an issue. Friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Decor, location, bathroom, bar, spa facilities.
Cons: Customer service, especially at reception desk.
The style and decor of this hotel are impressive, and the location on the Via Veneto is ideal for sightseeing and people-watching (even if none of the Roman taxi drivers seem to know where it is!!). The staff in the bar, and in the spa, were friendly but the reception staff showed the indifference to customer service that we have reluctantly come to expect now in Italy. However, this didn't spoil our stay, and we would probably stay here again, for the good facilities and the proximity to the Borghese gardens, Spanish steps etc.

Nice hotel relatively close to Vatican, etc.

Pros: See above.
Cons: Room lighting
Location: Hotel is located in tourist area.
We stayed 6/27 through 7/2/2015 on holiday. The room was clean and large. My only complaint is that the room illumination was too dim at night. Extremely helpful staff, good buffet breakfast. I would stay there again the next time I visit Rome.
