Near the ColosseumPosted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: Complimentary coffee in pm. Quiet room with view of one of the Seven Hills of Rome.
Cons: An iron and board or at least availability would be great.
Location: See above. Rome is surprisingly clean. Wide streets and the historic sites close.
Excellent location. Five minutes from Palatine Hill and the Colosseum. Reasonable restaurants, small grocery stores, vibrant buzz. Breakfast adequate. Hotel staff helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable.

Great hotel next to Coliseum and ForumPosted Oct 27, 2015
Pros: Perfectly located for many tourist sites.
Cons: Rooms were a bit warm and A/C was already turned off for the season, but that is typical for the area.
Location: Walked to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Capitoline museums, Trevi fountain, National museum, Nero's golden house, and Pantheon.
Hotel was very nice with an excellent breakfast included. It is within walking of Colosseum, Forum and main train station an while on a busy street it was quiet inside. Cabs were easy to find in the morning. Be sure to cross the street to the Saint-Peter-in-chains church to see Michelangelo's Moses statue.

Close to Ancient RomePosted Oct 17, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Not really
Location: See above
This was the hotel selected by our tour agent, Trafalgar. We decided to come in a day early so we were ready for the tour that started on Monday. Of the 3 hotels we stayed in during our tour (Florence and Venice), this was the best of the three. It has all the bells and whistles that Americans look for in hotels. Plenty of outlets for charging our phones and laptops (bring a converter), quiet rooms, good linens, top quality room amenities. We always choose twin beds in Europe as a "double" can mean just that. Choosing twins (that are always pushed together on arrival) means a good night of sleeping with room to move. Bathrooms can be a challenge in Europe with their extra deep bath tubs. This hotel had one flaw - the glass shield in the bathtub... tough to shower without splashing outside onto the floor, but I'm sure they have heard it all before. Hotel staff were pleasant and fluent in English. Breakfast is always a challenge as their scrambled eggs taste "off" and they don't cook bacon to even semi-crisp... so we always opt for a European breakfast of yogurt, fruit, and cold cuts. It was included in our room rate, so beggars can't be choosers. We would definitely return to this hotel and the location was perfect. A short 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and Ancient Roman ruins. This hotel is in the Monti district. Many great restaurants off the main streets.
