Budget Hotel

Posted Aug 20, 2016
All comments prefaced with knowledge that hotel was booked on basis of price. Not location or facilities. However, advertised with private bathroom but apparantly a toilet isn't included?! That was down the hall. Shower was in poor condition and leaking, tiles old and dirty. Aircon leaked constantly and required towel on floor during use with water running down wall. Breakfast is indeed basic. OK if you like bread based products but if not you are better off getting fruit from local stalls in area. Staff very friendly I found, aware of limitations of hotel. Actual room was great. Nice comfy bed, lovely little balcony over road with limited view but still welcome addition and very clean. Loved the small service elevator! Location great for train station (5 mins), regular 20-30 min walk into city proper. We don't mind walk but factor it in. Local supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, bus stops all good. Some cafes but better ones in city proper. All in all hotel did what we wanted in providing a bed for night. Will probably look for deals closer to attractions next time. In the end, you get what you pay for as always.

Budget hotel with few perks

Posted Jul 5, 2016
Pros: The free breakfast of pastries and coffee. Also being located close to the action.
Cons: I didn't like the idea of paying for Wifi since this is almost a necessity.
Location: Close to Tiburtina, Termini and Republica. There's a co-op (grocery store) nearby.
I was looking for a budget hotel that is close to the downtown. They provided a decent breakfast consisting of pastries and coffee. Paying for the wifi was a bummer though. Overall it was a good experience.

good value for money

Posted May 27, 2016 on Hotels
20 mins walk from central train station(termini), market and supemarket on the way, a lot of hotels, restaurants and bars nearby, nice little nightlife for that. breakfast are all the same in hotel, toast with jam and a coffee. (i have read a lot of good review about breakfast, but i personally would not consider jam on toast or bread would be a good one, therefore i wrote it out what it actually is) however, this consider as amercian breakfast. shower area is a bit small.

Average Experience, Close to Termini, Big Room

Posted Apr 21, 2016 on Hotels
Pros: Room was very big. Close to Roma Termini. Cons: Hotel running from a shared building. Entering the hotel/room was not very obvious, you need to call twice to enter the hotel. It is more like AirBNB's private room type accomodation. Maintenance was poor, shower/ door handle was broken.

Conveniently located

Hotel very close to train station about 10 minute walk. Also close by major city attractions. Room was largest I've atayed in Europe. More like an apartment type. Only issue is check-in/check-out and breakfast is on another building down the street. No free wifi.

good location, BUT very disappointing hotel

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: breakfast good
Cons: air conditioner, staff hospitality
Location: two blocks down a sandwich bar, 2.50 euro only, and a great coffee place on settembre 39, coffee 80 cent, fresh croissant also 80 cent.
I stayed in July, 2015, very hot weather, 93 F. No working air conditioner!!! Hotel staff did nothing to fix it. Everday you need to pay 4 euro for wifi, they don't take in advance for entire stay, it was inconvenient to renew wifi every night. A friend of mine booked a room for three nights, which was confirmed, and his credit card charged, but on his arrival the receptioninst said there is no room available, refund was denied. So, he was offered a downgraded room in other hotel. also in their website, they should mention that this hotel has diferent entries, it's the same building , but the receptionist located in third floor in settembre 89, but rooms are in settembre 95 ( if i don't mistaken numbers, but it's different) , so when you are checking in you need to climb stairs to third floor with your baggages , then back to outside to entry your room.

Quiet hotel, walking distance to many attractions.

Posted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: location , price , room and of course staff staff staff who where always smiling and very attentive....
Cons: perhaps some tea/coffee making facilities or microwave in room would be an extra bonus...
The Baltic Hotel was a very pleasing accommodation, other reviews where not giving the place its true review, from the moment we checked in (2 young women 18+21 sight seeing alone for 10 days) we felt safe and at ease with the property and its staff who went far and beyond their remit, the room was spotless and had all the amenities we required comfy beds, private bathroom , fridge and very importantly when its 37 degrees air conditioning which without asking was added to with a portable fan by the Hotel staffs housekeeping department, breakfast was continental breads and preserves which was adequate to start your day. With the ever friendly staff on hand for advice the attractions of Rome where well laid out on the maps they provided and easily reached by foot as was many shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend the Hotel Baltic for extremely reasonable , safe , quiet and friendly accommodation in the heart of Rome...
