I wouldn’t know because I couldn’t stay. Because I couldn’t get there. I specifically looked for a hotel with an airport shuttle and after hotels.com told me there would be one I booked it. After calling the hotel I found out they DID NOT have a shuttle and would let me cancel. Hotels.com did nothing.

Overall, the hotel and staff were great. I would have liked the use of the pool but it doesnt open after the summer months. Would recommend the hotel to my friends.

The property was dirty the carpet was burgundy but really stained black. It was horrible. Had to walk around in shoes the entire time. The beds are hard and very stiff. The only good thing was the hotel was located in a neighborhood so i got to experience a feal experience the staff was very nice it was just the facility is so run down.

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The furniture had holes and the refrigerators were hot and musty smelling. The ceiling and wall paint was cracked. The carpet was dingy. This is a 2 star hotel at best. The rooms need to be refreshed.

breakfast is ok. the staff are rude and not approachable even avoiding the guest . The hotel have disgusting smell from reception .hallway and even in our room.smells septic tank. The location is far from the city center . You wont see hotel staff smiles.

The only good part of the property was the friendly ladies at the front desk during the evening. The hotel is dirty and smells. What was most deceiving is that it list an airport shuttle service which is why I booked the hotel in the first place (and I was looking for a 4-star hotel - which this is not). Turns out they only run a shuttle from the airport to the hotel at 7:00AM. There is no other airport shuttle during the rest of the day.

This place was a refuge after our first hotel was LESS than perfect. Hotel Capenelle was so comfortable that it was exciting to return after a day in the city. With fairly easy access to the metro and awesome staff, we would definitely stay again!

The property was reasonably clean,the best service was breakfast in the mornings the staff were always friendly,polite and were very efficient. Some of the staff behind the desk I found were sometimes not very friendly and quite rude,I can honestly say that there were two staff that were friendly and polite. On the 4th day of my stay I found some paper in the foot of my bed which were old emails dated March 2019,I brought it to the attention of the staff who brushed it off and said they would change my sheets and actually they never apologised. On the last day after I checked out I sat waiting for my taxi,my 2 year old son was crying as he had a bellyache a lady came over to me from behind the desk and asked me to keep him quiet as they can’t hear the phone,a man then came out around 10minutes later again so I left and waited outside. I find this behaviour of the staff members completely unprofessional and unacceptable they had no idea why he was crying,but then when I complained about the noise which happened at 3.45am on the day we arrived (Wednesday 21st August) they did nothing about it,people were fighting in the corridors,screaming and shouting.

I liked the property and the staff was very nice and helpful. I didn’t like how we paid extra for the pool but couldn’t use it because there were too many people. Also, first day we used the shuttle, we were dropped off at the metro only to find that that part was closed. We were stuck in an area and didn’t know where to go or what to do. Figured the staff should have known this. I thought the shuttle driver was rude also. With all that, I would still go back there again. Good staff, safe area and all around nice place.

I don't generally write these, but this hotel is not the most appropriate and is misleading. This hotel on booking, indicated breakfast included as well as pool included. Additionally it indicated it was within close proximity to all the main attractions. This was not the case at all. Upon arrival to the hotel we were informed we would be chart 10 euro per person per morning for breakfast and if we wanted to use the pool there was also an additional fee. Weekends the fee was increased for pool use. The only positive comment I can really make is that this hotel was within walking distance to an amazing little diner with amazing food and prices. I highly recommend the little restaurant down the street from this hotel but would definitely stay elsewhere for accommodations. They offer a shuttle to the subway except he dropped us off with the subway being closed for the 2 weeks. Apparently, this is very well known in Rome about this closure. We were left on the side of the road with no transportation and no knowledge of how to get anywhere. A city bus came along and saw about a dozen stranded tourists and let us on his bus despite having no tickets. Thankful to the kind bus driver. The beds are very uncomfortable and you can feel the springs poking you. Upon arrival our safe did not work, we contacted the front desk and were told someone would be up. We were there 9 days and nobody every came to replace the batteries so it could function. Not worth it!!

Dear Guest, thanks for your review and thanks for staying at Hotel Capannelle Appia Antica. First of all I want to clarify that if You buy a Room Only rate means Breakfast is not included. That's why You were asked to pay an extra charge for breakfast...believe me it's all worth 10 euros. That said we do have a pool and is pretty clear everywhere that is not free entrance since 3 years or more. The reason why is not free entrance is because we want to keep low the room rates and we want our guests to feel free of only use what the want. That's why we don't like all inclusive rate, because it means we need to keep higher the room rates and we don't want this. Moreover the pool has a medium size/capacity, if iw would be free we would have a very crowded pool and, again, we don't want this. We want our guests can enjoy it peacfully being relaxed. About the shuttle service...we have at our front desk an advice where it is written that the transport company of the municipality of Rome will do some work in the summer and therefore some stations will close. Despite this, the company will provide a shuttle service to the city center. We do always advice in this period our guests about this extra service that replace the regualar subway service. Anyway, we do really hope You will give us another chance for your next trip to Rome!

The pictures of the rooms they show are ONLY for the suites and the "superior room" is basically a standard room on the 3rd or 4th floor. The place is incredibly humid and it smells of mold. The windows may not always be water-resistant, the tub pipes are often clogged and I had to buy the liquid to unclog them myself, and some of the staff at reception are incredibly, incredibly, incredibly rude. The breakfast is a rip-off, the quality of food is terrible and you get more stuff at a Caritas buffet. ABSOLUTELY TO AVOID!!!

Me and my boyfriend’s room had a loud beeping noise and it took 3 1/2 hours wait and 4 calls to reception to finally get matters taken into place. Some reception staff were quite rude towards us rolling their eyes and clearly annoyed at our presence (e.g. asking for directions, clean toiletries etc). Not all staff was rude but many looked displeased with our presence. For the hotels location we used the 118 bus only 5 min walk from hotel , 20/30 min drive into central Rome.

Carlos and Flavia from the front desk were very nice and take care of us. Room were confortable and clean. I was surprised about the building itself. It looks nicer than the pictures in Orbitz. Overall in our short stay we felt like home.

Not what i expected.
The people that work here are nice but you have to pay to use the swimming pool. If you order food downstairs they will not let you bring it up unless you want it delivered to your room for 8 euros. Even for pizza. I had to wait 30 minutes for my room to be ready the day i got here and it was never fully cleaned. I was getying charged extra for breakfast as if everyone in my room was eating but only two of us would go downstairs for breakfast. I asked 2 days in a row to get my refrigerator fixed and it never was so i had to keep buying water at hotel for it to be cold. Theres only one room for ironing and the key was missing after my second day here so i gave up and had to buy one. The carpets in room were dirty the ceiling has stains from water leaks. Curtain was ripped. Beds are stiff and pillows also.

Arrived to find a protest taking place outside the hotel, even more surprised to note quite a few well armed police in attendance. No clear signage made it impossible to find reception,I called the hotel but they never answered the phone. Eventually one of our party walked in and found out where to check in. I have a disability, and the hotel provides no disability parking bays.The staff are rude, and when I requested to see the manager, I was told to come back tomorrow. The hotel is far from 4 star, the hotel grounds are dirty and full of rubbish as was the driveway into the underground car park. The lift foyer in the car park was filthy, the hallway carpet s were heavily stained and the walls marked. The room was clean, but had no wardrobe, drawers or shelves for clothing, a safe as was advertised but not supplied and the toilet flush was hanging off the wall. During our 2 night stay the only staff member who spoke to us was a maintenance man. As for the rest of the staff we may as well not existed. Upon checking out, no enquiry was made as to our stay, and if everything met our requirements, this may have been because the staff member checking us out decided to answer the. Telephone, and carry on a conversation leaving me standing there. On the whole a poorly maintained, poorly managed hotel in a rather unsafe area.

Basic is all I can say. Overpriced for how far away from the centre of Rome it is. 45 minute bus journey away. Highly inconvenient. Staff are nice enough, rooms were clean and had working air con.

The property was good, the area was not so appealing. The rooms were fantastic, very clean just what you need for a short break. A little far away from everything if visiting the city. No pool available but we didnt need one.

The reception staff were friendly & helpful, even giving us a map of Rome centre and transport information, including where to buy our bus passes. The hotel appears to have a shuttle service, which also provides airport transfers (5 euros per person each way) - I wish we had known about this before I had paid in advance for private transfers. Hotel decor a little dated, but clean and comfortable. The air-con system in the room was set up, and I couldn't change it. I prefer to open the windows, but the cleaners kept closing these. Nice large bed, only one pillow each, but asked for another and this was brought up straight away. Safe and fridge in the room, however, it would have been good to have had hot drinks facilities too. Nice to have a continuous supply of toiletries in the room. Hairdryer attached to the bathroom wall, not so good, and every time I used it I knocked the phone off the hook - still don't understand why there was a phone in the bathroom? Also be careful, I pulled a white drawstring expecting it to be an extractor fan and instead set off a very loud panic alarm, no one came thankfully, I think they may have had more of a shock than me! Initially not too impressed by the area the hotel is in, about 50 minutes from the centre, however, it was quiet & we didn't mind using the bus. There are some nice restaurants nearby too - no English. Only ate breakfast in the hotel which was nice, plenty of it, just not hot enough - they need warm plates! Would return!
