Close to my meeting place but I will not stay there. The room is tiny. The shower is so small I could hardly fit in it and I am not a big person. There is no elevator so I had to carry my bags upstairs. The TV had only one English Channel. The bed sheets were very old and dusty. The mattress was not comfortable. The TV was on the desk so that did not leave a work area.

Would choose to stay again
A quiet but convenient hotel. No lift, some stairs to lower floor and breakfast area. Does not have all the extra services that bigger hotels have but that is made up for by the friendly staff. Within walking distance to the major tourist attractions. Limited but suitable restaurants close by. Place where you get some feel of a local residential area. Have stayed here three times and have not been disappointed.

Could do with a refurb but is well looked after day to day. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was just a continental buffet, nothing hot but again, was perfectly adequate all things considered.

Excellent small hotel close to Coliseum & Palatine
Hotel was very conveniently located within 10 minutes walking of Coliseum and Palatine. Friendly, accommodating, and respectful staff. Very good breakfast with excellent cappuccinos and very friendly barista. Hotel was clean. One-person room was small, but clean and adequate. Hotel and entire neighborhood seemed very safe. Would absolutely stay here again, at least as a solo traveler.

Very comfortable and pleasant stay
I stayed at Hotel Domus Aventina for four nights and found it to be very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. Good value, and a great location (particularly if you have need to visit the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, which is within walking distance).

Amazing staff, best in bussiness. Great location and nice breakfast with plenty variety. Ample street parking for travelers with rental car although there are parking meters and will only take coins.

One night in Rome
The hotel was fine - better and more convenient than most of the B&Bs in the area and still offering value for money. But it took a little finding, because the street numbers repeated 9, 13, 9, 11 ,13.Breakfast and wifi were good; on the downside, I was only in Rome for 24 hours and when I arrived home, I found over a dozen insect bites, with the hotel being the most likely location...advice would be - take some insect repellant.

Very comfortable hotel for the price
I enjoyed my 6-night stay at this hotel. It was very comfortable and affordable, and the staff was very pleasant. My room was quite small, but just fine for the price. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area but very close to the historical sites. In addition, a supermarket and the Metro station were not far from the hotel.

A 2 night stay in this conveniently located pleasant hotel. The room was comfortable and the shower was excellent. The only negative aspect was the lack of a kettle in the rooms meant no cups of tea / coffee etc which we really missed.

Overall Positive Experience On A Budget
We stayed for two nights. Andrea is the owner I believe. At least he is the one who responded to all of my communications and sat at the front lobby at times. He replied to all of my emails in a very timely manner and gave me a lot of friendly advice on touring the city. Rooms weren't bad. The bed was actually two twin beds combined into a king size. I had no complaints because it served its purpose anyway. It was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. We were a little surprised that there wasn't an iron in the room. After asking, we found out that we had to go downstairs to a common area to use it. The neighborhood is quiet, a little too quiet. Coming back to the hotel at night got a little creepy. Regardless, I definitely made the right decision with this hotel. Thanks Andrea!

A very pleasant hotel all around. Not fancy but very nice; balcony overlooking courtyard, jasmine. Very quiet street despite proximity to Circus Maximus and Roman Forum. Staff helpful. Single rooms a bit tight; doubles fine. Breakfast good.

Easter Holiday in Rome
Upon arriving, I was greated very cordially and without hesitation. I directed to my room which was very clean. The desk clerk was also very helpful with helping me find directions to the sites I wanted to see. The bed was comfortable; the bathroom/shower was clean and very spacious. The dining room (for breakfast) was a very nice experience; the host made a wonderful cappuccino for me every morning and the meal was plentiful and quite good. I will stay here again when coming to Rome.

Quick weekend trip
Last minute trip to meet up with relatives, good for sightseeing as not too far from colosseum about 15 mins and 45 mins walk from Vatican and St. Peter's , all other sites around 30 mins stroll. We knew where to go as we'd stayed in Rome last year for a week

Staff was very very attentive and friendly. Hotel was within walking distance.to the forum, collesium and Jewish ghetto and a short cab ride to the Vatican. Good restaurants were everywhere. The hotel could use a remodel.

Great location and great staff - no tea facilities
Very pleasant quiet location with attentive staff, clean comfortable rooms ( although not without the rather Italian drain odour) - all you could want, except for us Brits who need tea at all times. The Italians expect to pop out for a coffee, but this hotel is a bit off the main street for that. There is a minibar for water and beer, but no kettle or hot drink facilities available after breakfast.

Kind staff specially at kitchen and breakfast. Good breakfast. Nice stuffs in room. Very poor internet connection (we stayed 5 nights and 3 nights there was no internet connectin). Rooms smell and each time we arrive we need to open window. Noisy room and you can easily hear neighbor when they are talking.

Good hotel location wise
The hotel was in a nice quiet position but easy walking distance to main sites. Met some people who struggled a little staying in main town centre because of traffic, night socialising etc. If you prefer a little quieter spot this hotel is ideal. Overall the hotel is good and sufficient for a short stay considering site seeing all day. The only slight nuisance was the shower in our room was not very good at all.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in February 2016 and I can tell you that it's a real bargain! Nice common areas, great room, near the Colosseum and for a reaaaallly low price. The breakfast was very good and the service excellent

Hotel in dire need of remodeling and renovation. It has an old musty smell to it and the furniture, bedding, curtains, and carpets need to be ripped out and replaced. It felt clean enough. It's also in a very quiet neighborhood within walking distance from the Circo Massimo and the Colosseum. But in all honesty, it was a letdown and not a very nice hotel. The best part was the coffee at breakfast which is made to order by a very friendly man who is all smiles. The breakfast itself... meh.

Quiet, residential neighborhood
Location was very convenient to walk to the Coliseum, Palantine Hill area. Loved the fact that it was in a residential quiet neighborhood. You could almost feel like you were living there, not a tourist! Our room was a little small, but clean. The front desk people very helpful & friendly especially Dario. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here many times and I love this hotel. The location is terrific! The rooms clean, we could control the air conditioner and we even had a balcony. Whenever I go to room with my family or just as a couple this is my first choice! I highly recommend this hotel.

Arrived 11 pm on a sundayand left before 6 am Wednesday so did not see much of the hotel. Drapery and furnishings are dark and tired and need updating and replacement. Staff pleasant. Bedside lamp fitting was broken and needs repair.

Great place near the Circus Maximus
Stayed with 2 young children. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, room large enough with balcony outside, good continental breakfast with great fresh coffee. Close to central Rome. Would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you to all the staff.

We loved this neighborhood and this hotel! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good. It's nice being close enough to walk to the main attractions but still far enough away so that you feel like it's a getaway. We did not have any problems with our room and the AC was powerful - which was really important considering the immense heat. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

Quiet hotel in a very nice neighborhood.
Wonderful experience in this hotel in the hill in Aventino. You can not hear the traffic and noises of the city. The roon I was offered had a very nice terrace overlooking a yard with trees and pants and the Santa Prisca church. There is a bus stop around the corner (no. 715) that will take you to close to Piazza Venetia. You can also walk to the Circo Massimo and from there to many of Rome´s sightseeing places. The only issue I had was that the walls between the rooms are not thick enough and my neighbors tended to be very noisy at late hours. The staff were very nice and I would especially mention the guy at breakfast and the super excellent coffee. I woul recommend this hotel.

Be prepared
The place is good. What you have to consider is that it is located on a street with a slope. Middle of a "soft" the hill. But, be aware that Rome is all about hills.
