The hotel is not a 4 star hotel more like 3.

Pros: The breakfast was the best thing of all.
Cons: The hotel needs to be improved throughout to bring it up to the 4 star rating. The lift needs to be bigger and a lot quicker.
Location: Not too far from the main Termini station. It is north of the centre of Rome. If you like walking it is a good location to get to the Trevi Fountain.
The room bedding, towels were clean, however the hotel rooms need to be updated and have a good overhaul throughout. The carpets need replacing as very stained. The outside of the hotel could do with a lick of paint too. Our shower did not work properly as you couldn't leave the shower head in the holder without causing a flood on the bathroom floor! The shower was not put up in the correct position. No mirrors in the room apart from the bathroom. Could do with better lighting in the room and light switches that are not hidden behind the door!

Don't stay here

Pros: breakfast
Cons: everything
Location: close to taxi rank and shops and restaurants. Close to Termini station.
very old and in need to modernising. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. TV ancient and the picture is wavy and only has Italian stations. Lift can only fit 4 people in at a squeeze. My room on my last morning had water coming through my ceiling in the bathroom in at least 3 places. A huge lump of concrete from the balcony above came crashing down on mine! No apologies in either case from the hotel. The staff seemed to think this was an every day occurrence. The lift made a squeeking noise all night. The pillows were flat and when my friend asked if she could have some different soft pillows was told "they are all the same". The staff did not go out of their way to make our stay comfortable at all.

Great roof terrace. Near the great Borghese grdns

Pros: The views from the balcony and proximity to the centre.
Cons: The internet connection on the 7th floor was sometimes unreliable- and beware of the 6 euro a night city tax (although this might be in every hotel).
Location: The borgese gardens are great as stated above- we saw all of Rome's major sites over our two weeks but started with the v.close Borgese galleries.
We wanted a twin bedroom and balcony. We requested this two weeks in advance via email and although they said this wasnt possible upon arrival they had reserved us the only twin with balcony (others are doubles). The balcony was more of a roof terrace on the 7th floor and absolutely great! It has views across the historic city walls and into the centre, and at night the mountains on the horizon are beautifully lit with houses.and t Close to the via veneto which is great, much closer to the centre than you might think. Although it isnt in the centre exactly, Rome is so compact that there's not much difference. We often walked all the way from Trestevere in the far south west, whereas this hotel is the far north east. A big walk but it is possible, all the way across the tiber and through piazza navona and the spanish steps. Another great benefit is its proximity to the Borghese gardens with its beautiful pines, museums and galleries, and much entertainment for kids including boats and a small train. On the far side of the gardens is also a view right across Rome's skyline of St.Peters and the tiber. The hotel staff are friendly and have 24 hour reception service, and are very helpful and directions- the men even know all of the bus and metro routes. Room service is also good and they clean the rooms everyday on request.

Nice hotel easy to access metro and taxis

Pros: Location, and a very nice breakfast also!
Cons: Not much comes to mind
Location: See above summary! Close to republican square and the metro which makes all tourist spots (Vatican, colosseum ruins, Trevi fountain) easily accessible
Excellent staff that spoke excellent English to counter our lousy Italian! Close to metro and many great restaurants within walking distance at very reasonable prices, including places that had house wine ( a liter!) for about 10 euro, awesome. Very nice hotel, we'd stay there again!

"It's the smell" (Agent Smith in "The Matrix")

Pros: Exceptional price on Expedia -- too good to pass up. Staff was generally very helpful and arranged a car to the airport at a very good price (50 EUR)
Cons: Hallway smell. Significant bathroom mold on corner of wall behind the shower door. Very old, worn carpets.
Location: Location -- a bit far from the central. Be prepared to walk 20-30 minutes. Not a lot of restaurants/bars/cafes in the area. Near Villa Borghese.
If the smell problem were corrected, I could recommend the hotel for someone needing a place for a couple of nights, particularly for visiting Villa Borghese and the gallery there. The bad smell in the hallway puts one into a very critical mood, accentuating the worn carpet in the room and the mold on the edge of the shower wall.

Hotel on a budget.

Pros: The price and the breakfast.
Cons: Airport shuttle.
Location: The location was far from the tourist attractions. The local bus stop was a 3 min. Walk away. There was a shopping district very close.
The staff was absolutely wonderful, this made up for some of the incidental costs. We paid $40-$50 euros for a taxi (car service) to get to and from the airport. Our flight was delayed and the hotel guaranteed our room, which was a relief. This hotel is far from all of the tourist attractions. However, The local bus was at the corner. (3 min. walk) We took the local bus to our tour bus. There are several hop-on-hop-off tour buses to choose from in Rome. The free breakfast was perfect for our few days in Rome for me and my two boys. The breakfast was comparable to a 4 star hotel breakfast buffet. The same breakfast was available all three days. Ham, croissants, breads, eggs, yogurt, cereals, fruit and variety of juices, cappuccino, cocoa and milk. The room was worth the little we paid. It was clean except for the dingy carpet and roomy with outdated furniture. We had a balcony with a limited view of the business district.

Reasonable Hotel in decent location

Pros: Location, value for money, breakfast decent and nice balcony.
Cons: A good clean of carpets and shower enclosures and smell in floor corridors needs addressing.
Location: A nice walk to most of Rome sights and a few decent places to eat close by.
Overall the hotel is ok. The location is ideal, being a reasonable walk to the sights of Rome. Although it is listed as 4 stars, it is more like 2 and a half stars. On the downside, the carpets are dirty and need replacing and there was black mould around the shower tray, though the rest of the shower was clean enough. There was a definite drains smell in the corridor outside our rooms, but the room itself did not smell. With a good clean and carpets either deep cleaned or replaced, the hotel could give a much better impression. There were 4 in our party and we had adjacent rooms with a nice shared balcony, ideal to sit and have a drink there. The breakfast was ideal and the staff were friendly enough. We would stay here again at the price we paid.

Pros: Very good location. Big bathroom.
Cons: Better tv new, international channels, smell of rooms, tea and coffee facilities.
Location: Cheap restaurants around, small supermarket very close to hotel, quiet area
Room was in good condition, just big minus tea or coffee facilitates missing, no international tv, and old small tv. Hotel is using smelly cleaning products, after come back to home we needed wash all clothes. Bathroom is spacious nice and clean.
