Great location!

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Pros: Breakfast and view from the restaurant was the best!
Cons: Could be cooler!
We loved the location of the hotel and enjoyed our room. The only downside was that the beds were awfully hard and there was a big all-night party in the bar below our room on Friday night that woke us up 3 different times. The room could definitely have been cooler as well. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay! We enjoyed our meal with nice meats, cheese and fruits and friendly wait staff. The view however was spectacular and we lingered over a long breakfast enjoying coffee and tea and the cool morning view of Rome. Wonderful!

Interesting hotel

Posted Jul 10, 2016
Pros: View from the roof
Cons: Rooms could be cleaner and food can be improved.
Location: Near Forum and colosseum
We chose this hotel because my wife had stayed there 14 years ago at a conference. This time when we went there with our 23 year old son the first room we were given appeared like a dormitory, not at all what we expected from a "not so cheap" 4 star hotel. More importantly I assume because the hotel is made from several attached old buildings the access to the room was very strange. You had to take an elevator the the second floor, walk long corridors, walk down or take another elevator to the first floor. There was no way to go down from a first floor room to the lobby by taking a simple staircase. Hence it was basically a fire trap. Having paid everything in advance we were extremely disappointed. When my wife went to the reception to complain the early response was not very positive. We kind off settled to a not such pleasant four day stay, our only option being to write a negative review at Expedia, and Trip Advisor and we mentioned that to the reception. Afterwards a very positive Marco called and changed our room to a much better one with acceptable access. Rooms are small but of course that is Europe. The breakfast roof had an amazing view but the food was mediocre. Overall the staff became very friendly after that first hurdle, but I'm not sure that I would stay there again.

Fint hotell i pompøs stil. Beliggenheten var fantastisk, gangavstand til det meste.

Nice historic location but terrible services

Posted Jun 25, 2016
Pros: Location and proximity to the old Roman buildings
Cons: The whole management.
Location: walking distance to many interesting old Roman buildings.
The only good thing about this hotel is that it is located in a close proximity of old Roman buildings. The room services were terrible. There were no available restaurants or coffee shops in the hotel for lunch or dinner time. They claimed that their restaurants were reserved and not available for the hotel residents. For a four star hotel this is not acceptable. The WIFI internet for rooms as they claimed was not working and everyone had to use the one in the lobby. Not worth the money at all. Do not go there.

Great location to antique Rome.

Right in the center of ancient Rome. Hotel services and and facilities are outdated and are adequate for the 21st century.

Ancient footprints

Posted Jun 19, 2016
Perfect for ancient Rome, nestled at the edge of the forum ruins, walking distance to some of the city''s landmarks, close to metro for hop across the water to Vatican visit (be aware this line is busy and very crowed, but it's part of the Rome experience). As the guidebooks will tell, go early or late to avoid big crowds. Hotel has International clientele and quite refined (not snobbish), not overly crowded (both business and tourist), but busy. Not the newest of hotels, full of character with lots of dark wood and creaking floorboards ( not noticeable in room). 5th floor rooftop restaurant (and breakfast) has breathtaking views of area ( very romantic, if you are that way inclined). Staff polite and professional, language barrier no problem (24 hr concierge cover). WIFI available in room and lobby area, overall a great hotel with character in a perfect location and I would definitely return.

Lovely hotel with great views of Rome.

Posted Jun 7, 2016
Pros: Its central location and roof top terrace.
Cons: Roof top terrace was often reserved for non residents which meant that the residents couldn't sit up there. Residents should come first.
Location: Very close to the Roman Forum and Colosseum.
Lovely, elegant Hotel. Room was spacious and very clean. Staff very helpful. An ideal base for seeing the sights.

Location and more

Posted May 19, 2016
Pros: Location above all else but also the helpful staff.
Cons: This is how little I could find to fix ..... The eggs at breakfast were a bit runny. That's about it. Pretty good I'd say!!!
Location: Right at the Forum and Coloseum. There seriously is NO better location to stay at!!
First, you can't get a better location if going to Rome to enjoy all the tourist things. It is SO close to all the major sights. The furthest journey I had was when I walked to the Vatican and that was only 45 minutes. Otherwise, less than 5 minutes to the Coloseum, the Forum is across the street, and 15 minutes to the Spanish steps. Amazing!! The staff is super considerate, polite, and just want to make sure you are enjoying your time. Very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a great view!!!
