Dear Mrs Juana, thank you for your review although it is utterly deceiving. First of all our Reception is open 7 days a week 24 hours over 24. As a three star superior Hotel we are obliged by law to have a full time Reception. If , during the alarm, you came downstairs and did not see our Reception, it does not mean that we do not supply this service. This is ridiculous . The alarm went on since a guest was chain smoking with the windows closed. Our brand new alarm system did its correct job of going on. I am sorry this happened at 05:40am but also happy to know that safety does not come in second place in our hotel. The staff was checking the room which was signaled in the alarm. The guest would not open the room since he was trying to let the smoke out of the window (hoping we would not find out). By the time the guest opened, 5-6 minutes post alarm, the siren went out and the clients were going back in their rooms. Our receptionist did go down on the street as per protocol. The evacuation procedure (which is not invented but is ratified by the authorities) requires the agent first to reach the room where the alarm went on to see what the problem is, secondly to call the fire fighters or to switch the alarm off in case there is no threat. Only after all of this will the agent reach the guests downstairs. As you can understand, assuring that the first 2 procedures are far more important than assisting/informing the guest which have already left the building.
