Hotel Piazza Venezia in Rome

Posted Dec 5, 2016
Pros: within walking distance to popular sights, ruins, museums, and shopping
Cons: shower water pressure can be low, (hot) water temperature is not consistent, no dine-in facility in the hotel (except breakfast); WiFi weak
Location: Forum, Trinity Fountain, Pantheon, major museums, and sites across the river (about 20 minutes walk to Vatican, Castle of Angels, etc)
nice hotel conveniently located for city tourists, my room face away from the street so the noise was not a problem

City Centre Hotel

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Pros: Clean and Modern
Cons: Slightly wider range of food at breakfast but not a complaint!
Location: Only a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc. Opposite the Victor Emmanuel Memorial and not far from the Circu
Central hotel in walking distance of all the major sites. Very comfortable with very helpful staff. No bar or restaurant facilities but these are not needed as there are hundreds in the area! Breakfast very good. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if the purpose of the visit was to explore Rome.

Disappointing

Posted Nov 1, 2016
Pros: The location was very central and convenient. The road outside is busy and noisy. it is in close proximity to the local police station and so has more than its fair share of sirens going late into the night which can be heard from inside the hotel.
Cons: We had a triple room, with a round bed which didn't have a head board. The sofa had been utilised for the third bed and so there was no seating once back in the hotel. There was no bar in the hotel, or room where you could sit in comfort. The jacuzzi was empty. The room for breakfast is too small and can not accommodate the number of guests in a morning. The lady serving is working under demanding conditions and was pleasant but unable to correct the un correctable. The staff on reception didn't appear to have very good local knowledge and were unable to make restaurant recommendations unless you picked one of the 3 they offered. One was on the busy street outside, one was a fish restaurant (that was out of the question for us) and the third appeared to be picked out of a hat. This hotel was clean and convenient, but I don't honestly think it provided value for money or should have such a high star rating. I had a lovely holiday, but I didn't feel this hotel provided anything that came close to the 4.5 star recommendation as listed (other than cleanliness.

Fantastic location for the wonderful sights of Rom

Posted Oct 30, 2016
Pros: Location and friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Small breakfast room when busy.
Location: You can walk to all of the major attractions. Even St Peter's Square is only about 30 minutes.
Our room was on the top floor, so only had two roof windows but as we only booked it 48 hours beforehand then we accepted that there would be little choice. It was spacious and appears to have recently been refurbished. It was very quiet, as was the air conditioning (not always the case in hotels). The room was very clean but a few very minor points would make it top notch. It was very nice to have a kettle in the room, but a plastic teaspoon is a little basic. Also it was removed on the second day and not replaced! The extras, such as bathrobes, slippers and flip flops is a great touch, but the towels were a little thin. The mini bar was replenished daily, but a few snack options, would be good. The hotel has a lovely sun terrace at the front and another with jacuzzi at the rear. Very nice with a mug of coffee. The breakfast room is small and cramped when busy. The selection of food was fine for us and refilled quickly by the waiting staff who actually had a small cooking area to use. There is no restaurant or bar and so some may call this a posh B & B, but for us, it was absolutely spot on. Fantastic location for walking to the sights and some lovely little restaurants close by in the side streets. We will return!

Location: Walkable to everything and located in popular piazza , Spanish steps, shopping, food.
Nice, clean room in excellent location. We stayed for two nights and arrived at 8AM on our first day- just in time for breakfast buffet. Buffet was good (even had eggs which is rare). The staff was more than helpful with all our questions and needs.

Very nice and quiet boutique hotel

Posted Sep 14, 2016
Pros: It is small and quiet, no noise of the city, the staff is friendly and helpful, attending immediately to every request.
Cons: There is a good buffet breakfast, even fresh fruit, but we missed fresh vegetables.
Location: The location is fantastic, all the main sights are within walking distance, lots of bars and cafes in the vicinity.
We arrived in the morning and were pleasantly surprised to get the room without waiting for check-in time. The room was big, modern design, a large round bed with a good mattress. The hotel was renovated a year ago, so everything is new and clean.
