Short walk from the Termini (bus and train station) which is good, about 7-8 mins. Beware of taxi drivers offering to drive you for €25. Shorter walk to hop on the buses in the morning. Equivalent to, perhaps, Oxford Street. Definitely not Mayfair.
Grand old hotel, a little faded, with attentive staff. Fabulous old lift and reception room - very Miss Marple.
We had a small double room as we only wanted somewhere to lay our heads. It was small but perfectly adequate for a short stay. It had a huge bathroom!
The room was at the side of the hotel and quiet. Each time, on entering the room, you couldn't help but notice the drains smell which, luckily, disappeared on opening the windows. We put it down to being part of the charm of the Grand Dame Quirinale.
We'd be sure to return here.
