Nice hotel close to the sights.

Posted Apr 23, 2017
This hotel is in a good location. It is a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. A taxi ride to the Vatican takes about 20 minutes and costs around 15 euros. The metro is only a short walk away too. The hotel is a little tired but the location makes up for it.

Well placed

Posted Apr 17, 2017
Pros: Location- easy to reach everywhere
Short walk from the Termini (bus and train station) which is good, about 7-8 mins. Beware of taxi drivers offering to drive you for €25. Shorter walk to hop on the buses in the morning. Equivalent to, perhaps, Oxford Street. Definitely not Mayfair. Grand old hotel, a little faded, with attentive staff. Fabulous old lift and reception room - very Miss Marple. We had a small double room as we only wanted somewhere to lay our heads. It was small but perfectly adequate for a short stay. It had a huge bathroom! The room was at the side of the hotel and quiet. Each time, on entering the room, you couldn't help but notice the drains smell which, luckily, disappeared on opening the windows. We put it down to being part of the charm of the Grand Dame Quirinale. We'd be sure to return here.

Decent hotel in good location

Hotel is really dated but still in good condition. Wooden floor made a lot of noise and some parts of the room were dusty but other than that everything was exceptional.

Decent hotel

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: Staff, location, condition and character of hotel.
Cons: Bars on window of family room - I thought a young child could still fall. Front desk didn't have a first aid kit, but there is a pharmacy nearby.
Location: Good location, although the road is a bit noisy!
Spent one week with two young children (5 and 2). Staff were exceptional, friendly but not in a fake way. They always seemed to be happy to help and to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was reasonable without being spectacular - perfectly adequate with a good variety of food and always free tables. Tables were quickly cleared. Communal areas of hotel are great. Room was decent, although bed was slightly uncomfortable. Bathroom and room was clean and in good condition. Overall, I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Large clean room. Bathroom toilet had sewage smell that required us to keep the door closed.

Some staff were not as wecolming as others. But the food, the charm of building and the location made it a memorable stay.

Called on several occasions for early check-in and was told they would accommodate us. But when I arrived at 9am after a 10 hour flight the manager told me it my early check-in was only a request and check in is at 230pm. So if you are going to book this hotel make sure your flight arrives just in time for their check in.

Classic Italian decor

Posted Apr 15, 2017
Pros: The staff spoke English which was a relief as our Italian was embarrasingly poor. The bar was not over priced and the garden area is beautiful.
Location: Everything you would want to see is in walking distance. Maybe a taxi to the Vatican. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
We stayed for three nights. The rooms are clean and bright and small as you would expect for a big city hotel. The staff were friendly and professional.

Great Hotel for Families!

Pros: Location unbeatable - by main street - Via Nazionale. Minutes to The Vatican & Colosseum (short taxi) and Trevi Fountain (walking dist.) Internet incl
Cons: Include washcloths - none were available in the hotel or city! Possibly cultural.
Location: Minutes to The Vatican & Colosseum (short taxi ride) and Trevi Fountain (walking dist.) Walking distance to Roma Termini - central train station.
This hotel is everything and more! Traveling with husband and 2 small children one being an infant requires a keen sense of ensuring comfort and safety in wherever we stay. This hotel met ALL our expectations from the moment we walked in. The front desk staff was friendly and pleasant even though we arrived in Rome quite early and had to wait two hours to check in. Our room was cozy, clean and extremely spacious - main bedroom and small one for kids including crib + a massive bathroom! Upon arrival, we thought the refrigerator was broken and a technician was immediately sent to resolve the issue (plugged in wrong outlet!) All staff including breakfast/restaurant, bell hop were always smiling and willing to assist if necessary. Our room was cleaned and refreshed daily. We would certainly return to Hotel Quirinale! Ciao!
