Poor rooms

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: Location/breakfast
There were no hot water for the shower, the phone did not work so couldnt call reception and had to go down to complain - The room was so small that getting up and around meant bumping into furniture. Bathroom experience was also uncomfortable. - There was no control of ac temp, centralized and blew hot air and room was stuffy, only option was to open window and couldnt sleep from traffic and street noise - hidden charge of 6Euro per person on exit was paid - no coffeee or tea in room only water and needed to pay if more was needed - breakfast was good with ample selection for a continental breakfast and food was fresh - location was good near train station and 20 minutes to coliseum but not near any supermarkets

Return to Rome

Posted Mar 23, 2017
Pros: Good location: Friendly, helpful English speaking staff. Comfortable beds in spacious rooms
Cons: It was a bit noisy if you slept with the window open. Hot water was sometimes in short supply
Location: Excellent location within walking distance of tubes and train station, Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, Forum Archaeological Museum, Baths, cafes.
I am an archaeologist and teacher of classical history but the last time I was able to visit Rome was when I was 18 so it was a wonderful experience, also great for my daughter who came with me and had never been there at all. Rome had changed a lot since the 195os. It was much more crowded and you could no longer wander round the forum sharing a picnic with the cats! Highlights were the restored Sistine chapel, the Castle of St Angelo, the old Churches and a trip out into the country to see the Etruscan tombs.

Great hotel in central location

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Central location, 2 streets walk away from the main Termini metro station which goes straight to collosseum / vatican etc. There was a taxi strike the whole time we were in Rome and had no trouble at all getting around that way. Really nice hotel, staff are so friendly and helpful, cannot do enough for you. 5****

Nice, but a bit old fashioned

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: location, staff
Cons: See above comments. Breakfast OK, gets a C, could be better.
Room- nice size, but needs modernizing. Key should be replaced with card. Insufficient lighting, especially near closet. Very convenient location, near central train station (Teminni) subway and tram. Good wi-fi.

GREAT STAY - made better with Orbitz VIP

Posted Dec 15, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: nice location!
Location: Leave your key with the desk when you leave, it is much easier. The key is a REAL key on a relatively heavy key chain.
This hotel is very nice. The ceilings, at least the room we were in, were like 20 feet high! It is very close to the opera house and walking distance to the train station. Lots to see and do. VIP gave us a sweet upgrade and a nice Italian treat to take home. We would definitely stay here again.
