Friendly staff, great location, but basic hotel

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: Staff were very helpful on arrival, giving us a map and suggestions for where/how to go. Very clean hotel. Excellent location for transport.
Cons: WiFi was free, but did not work the entire time we were there. TV only picks up radio channels. Wash towels were not changed between days.
Location: There's not much nearby the actual hotel, but it is right next to an underground metro station that can take you anywhere in Rome within 15 minutes.
(2 friends sharing one room) If you are looking for a clean, friendly hotel that has excellent transport options and you don't intend on spending much time at the actual hotel, then this is very much the hotel for you. The hotel itself is nice, but basic. Each floor has about 3 rooms on it, each floor has 2 bathrooms (one male one female) that are shared between the 3 rooms, and also has a kitchen area if you want to use it. I was a bit uneasy about having to share a bathroom with other people, but the bathrooms are spotless, spacious, and very well maintained. As there are only 3 rooms per floor, its only a few steps to the bathroom anyway, so its really not an issue. The rooms themselves are pretty basic, we asked for 2 single beds for our room but were given 2 single beds pushed together to make a double PLUS a seperate single bed as well which was nice. Plenty of wardrobe space, rooms were always clean and beds always made. The best part about the hotel however, is its location in relation to the metro station. It is LITERALLY a 20 second walk to the nearest station, and makes getting around Rome a breeze. If you are looking for a hotel to drop your stuff at, go explore, and then come back to sleep at night, then this is very much the hotel for you.

Mediocre B&B saved by location

Posted Aug 9, 2016
Pros: Location is brill for restaurants & easy travel into Central Rome & 3 stops from Termini) Breakfast was also good- fresh croissants, juice and yoghurt
Cons: Service could be improved- maybe have a working intercom so that guests aren't left waiting outside when they arrive. Appliances also need updating
Location: Trattoria Re di Roma and Re di Roma pizza are nearby excellent restaurants to try.
As eluded to in the title, the saving grace for this 'hotel' (in inverted commas because it is a B&B at best), is the location. Adjacent to a lovely green piazza, with a lot of great little restaurants, convenience stores and literally next door to the Metro station 'Re di Roma' (Line A). The room itself is very basic with a tiny bathroom, but comfortable enough for a place to lay your head- the linens and room were kept clean and tidy. The room amenities left something to be desired however, the fridge and air conditioner were pants. We awoke each day to find a giant puddle around the aircon unit which the staff held at bay with multiple towels! The staff were helpful enough however small things let the service down. When we arrived, we were left waiting outside as no-one answered our many bell rings until we physically rang the desk. The young man who checked us in, didn't bother to introduce himself or give us any information apart from taking photocopies of passports, explaining the desk times and how to work the elevator. He also gave us 3 keys- one for the door of the apartment complex building, one for the front door which leads to the front desk (to be used out of desk hours) and one for our room! The front door key didn't work very well- the lock was very loose and meant that we had to call someone to open the door on more than one occasion. The wi-fi wasn't too bad got disconnected a couple of times especially in the evening when everyone is using it.

Horrible staff, clen hotel

Posted Jun 7, 2016 on Hotels
Hotel itself was clean. The hotel staff was horrible, the lady could not speak word of english and was mad because I didnt understand her, she did not even try, she was just ridiculing me and made me feel bad for even trying. Another younger lady was trying to make us pay double of the money even tho we had alredy booked for two people! Only props for young gentleman who could speak english and was nice. Overrall horrible staff.

Dear Guest, we are glad that you found our hotel clean. We regret that you comment our staff as "horrible". Being a family-run hotel, on your check-in, there was the owner's mother that always do her best to let feel at home all our guests. unfortunately, she doesn't speaks english very well, and the problem occurred with you, we are sure it was a misundertsanding. Regarding the "younger lady"that tryed to let you pay twice something..you came when I was alone at the reception, to pay the city tax of the 2nd person. I made a mistake telling you to pay an extra for the 2nd person but.. in 25 seconds, I checked it and say sorry to you and your friend! We wish you a good day, Hotel Roi Staff

Excellent and comfortable room with fair price.

Posted Apr 15, 2016
Pros: Staff attention and room.
Cons: Breakfast menu could offer more variety.
Location: Location was not the best but the metro station is in front of the hotel so we could transport us very easily.
Despite we struggled to communicate with the staff (most of them non-English speakers), they always were willing to help. WiFi connection was very poor. Breakfast offered only included coffee and toasted bread.

Okay for the price .

Posted Apr 13, 2016
Hotel was okay . Wifi didnt work for anywhere but the hall way. Asked the staff for the password for the roi hotel wifi that had full reception but they would not give it . Breakfast was coffee and a cracker that you could put jam on. It is quite a basic place however for the price it seemed reasonable . The location was good as well.
