Excellent hotel, clean, tidy and with a staff who are eager to help. In a perfect location for visiting the cafe's and restaurants of the Trastevere area. Well worth a visit.

Affordable hotel in a good spot for exploring Trastevere, with attractive communal areas and friendly staff. However the rooms look tired and need some updating, the furniture is old and dated, the shower had very poor water pressure, and there was no soundproofing. Also there was a power outage during our stay and the hotel didn’t have a back-up generator meaning that we spent a night without power, unable to put the lights on or charge our phones. All in all good for the price but in need of some updating, and it could be fantastic.

The walls in the room were paper thin, you could hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours - phone conversations, chatter with their partner was legible, toilet noises, thumping, cupboards opening and closing, belching and all else you cannot un-hear.

The breakfast was phenomenal, three options of "simple" dishes tasted extraordinary. The staff was extremely helpful and the location was close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and public transportation stops.

Good location near transit and the bustle of Trastevere. One thing I didn’t like was the internet - you had to sign in via a webpage, but even after doing that it said it was an unsecured network. Not great if you have to do banking or buy train tickets

Located in the most lovely area of Rome, we loved our stay here! The room was small but served its purpose so no complaints. Everything was needed was in walking distance and such great restaurants in the vicinity. Hotel staff was sweet and friendly. We loved that the breakfast was made to order and very fresh, I wished there was a little more variety than the 3 choices however. Con would be the elevator was broken when we checked in so carrying up 3 luggage’s 4 flights of stairs at 11pm wasn’t enjoyable.

It was a small boutique hotel in Trastevere. Best suburb to stay in Rome. Big room and bathroom with windows to open. Walking distance to Romes attractions just across the Tiber River. Buses an option. So many eating choices and cafes. Good breakfast to start the day. Would stay here again if back in Rome.

The rooms are quiet and clean. No frills. The restaurant/bar is just "ok" nothing special. The restaurant's prices/portions were something you would expect in Paris. For example 14 euros buys one meat skewer. My reco: dine elsewhere. The staff was friendly and warm.

We believe it is right to specify that your review is unfair and untruthful, you did not stay with us yesterday. You chose a non-refundable reservation to pay less and the day before arrival you asked to cancel it regardless of causing economic damage to the hotel.Your incorrect behavior penalizes Hotel San Francesco Staff who carefully and daily looks after all guests who appreciate so much, as you can read in previous reviews.

This place is the best place to stay in you in Trastavere, it's walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and the Piazza Santa Maria, and has easy access to the Metro and tourist atractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us some wonderful recommendations (and even reservations) for restaurants. The rooftop patio is beautiful. The rooms are basic and small, but they have everything you need. I would come back and stay here again the next time I visit Rome.

Great service, great location!
The hotel was great! The quality of the hotel was about to be expected. The service was great and the accommodations were nice. The location to great restaurants was perfect, and we had about a 20 minute walk to most tourist attractions. The breakfast in the mornings was perfect as well. The beds were not the most comfortable, but that was to be expected at a smaller, very reasonably priced establishment. Please note: the hotel does require you to give your card to the front desk each time you leave the hotel for security reasons. This was a bit odd to us, and we would have appreciated verification (last name, ID, etc) when picking up our room card upon return. Other than the bed and the room key drop off, this hotel was a great choice, especially for Americans people who do not speak Italian.
