best hotel to stay in Rome (by car)

Posted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels
We stayed at OC hotel in August 2013. If you arrive to hotel by car this is the best option to stay. In front of hotel is the bus stop (40,41) takes you to metro. To get to downtown with bus+metro it takes you cca 30 min which is great! Parking is free, breakfast is great (although it starts at 7.00). Is near highway so it's really convenient to reach it.

Good value but location lets it down

Great hotel at a good price for suburban Rome but not the quietest of locations. Hotel sits on a main road which is busy all day/night. Fairly easy to get into Rome but I'm sure there are more convenient and quieter places to stay.

Outstanding value for a short trip to Rome

Posted May 21, 2013 on Hotels
The hotel was by far the best value I have found when visiting Rome, after seven stays at different places (mostly for weekend trips) I must say this is my favorite. The Hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are spacious for European standard and the beds were great, an actual queen size mattress instead of two tweens pushed toghether. The room was very clean and quiet, they also have a nice spa although I did not use it this visit. One of the key features is the safe and free parking which is hard to find in Rome. The neighborhood seems safe and quiet and there is a nice pizzeria next door. The hotel location is not the most convenient as it is far from the main attractions, however it has a bus stop right in front of the hotel where the Bus 040 and 041 can take you on a quick ride to the Rebbibia metro station, also if going by car, the train station seems to have a decent amount of parking outside, so you could avoid waiting for the bus. It is a 45 minute transit to the Vatican and about 30 minutes to the Colosseum. The breakfast included was another pleasant surprise, a very complete breakfast with fresh eggs, plenty of fruits and excellent coffee.

Good hotel and good service! Clean rooms and quality breakfast. Little bit farther from the center of the Rome but public transportation is available and it is easy to use.

a little out of the way

Pros: clean, modern and friendly staff
Cons: too far from the centre
Location: it was like an industrial area, opposite a TV station
the staff was very friendly and well spoken, hotel was very nice, breakfast ok.taxis are very expensive and some of them dont know the way even though they had a satnav. the area where the hotel is called tivoli make sure you have the right address. because on the hotel website the address is wrong. its opposite a famous tv station. theres a news agent near by the shop owners are very friendly and nice. hotel was a bit far from the center of rome.bus stops right in front of the hotel which will take you to metro station. from there you can get a train to central rome colosseum, palazzo, piazza di spangna and other attractions.get a sightseeing bus thats the best way to see rome. people are very friendly and will help you if you are lost. be prepared for tourist tax charged @ of 3 euro per person per night, so that was a bit of a shock for us.

Great hotel

Pros: Nice and clean hotel
Location: A bit too far from city center
Great hotel, the rooms are very nice and clean, but a bit too far from hotel center if you have no car (They also offer parking). To get to the center you need to take a bus (but stop 1 min away from hotel, 15 minutes trip) and then the metro (15 minutes). The staff was OK, but comparing to other hotels had to ask for a map of the city and tips about what should we do. Food was good, and they also give you a 15% discount to the pizza restaurant next to the hotel.

stop off visit

Posted Aug 19, 2012 on Hotels
We are a family of 4 (2 young children) . We stayed here for 1 night as a stop off before moving to a final destination. Hotel and staff were great. Surrounding area may seem off putting but hotel itself is worth the star rating. We had car and were in Rome centre within 15 minutes, very convenient
