Clean with good breakfast but fell short overall

We stayed for 2 nights as it was my partner’s birthday and then we were attending a wedding at Mount Stuart. This is a beautiful house looking over the water, which is why we opted to stay here. However our room window looked directly onto a rough cast wall which blocked pretty much all natural light into the room. The room was very dated and our bed was two singles pushed together, which wasn’t ideal. It was also on the ground floor next to the front door and across from the dining room. As such we were woken constantly from people coming down for breakfast early in the morning. It was very much like a group of people standing on the other side of a very thin wall. Good points of the hotel - it was clean and the bathroom was new. The shower was excellent! Also, the breakfast was really good and the lady who greeted us in the morning was really lovely. I had thought this was £70 for the stay so was less than impressed when I was charged £70 per night! A stay at the Glenburn is the same price... Unfortunately this place didn’t meet my expectations and I felt it was overpriced.

Overall an lovely B&B, excellent service and very good value for money. My room was clean and comfortable. The shower en-suite was of good size and with nice toiletries. The breakfast was the highlight. I’d stay here again.
