The restaurant staff were excellent. The meal at night lovely. That's the good news. Room very tired. Front desk staff non-attentive.

Dated Rooms

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Room wasn't serviced had to ph housekeeping after 2 pm then next morn day of departure late checkout of 11am housekeeping were knocking on the door at 8.45 am then again at 10am. We found the room to be comfotable although very dated old furniture and dated bathroom. Not 4.5 star rating in my mind

Booked at Rygdes due to Wellington experience

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Cons: Fit air conditioning
Room was clean and well appointed, but disappointed as there is no air-conditioning, the wall heater functions well but difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. Uncomfortable night, too warm. Front office demanded credit card, would not accept debit card prepay, this contrary to Wellington experience where $100 prepay on possible charges was acceptable. Breakfast good, staff very helpful. Despite the 'good things' will not book there again until air conditioning installed.

Very Good Hotel for Conference

Posted Aug 10, 2016
Cons: Some of the food supplied only average and often in slow supply to tables
The size and quality of the rooms very good. At start rooms rather warm for sleeping. Conference facilities very good.

Good location

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: The interior, the food and overall service presentation including the tired shabby staff in the restaurant.
Location: Close to the city and tourist entertainment easily accessible
Torn curtains, broken chair, no hot water whatsoever on arrival and fobbed off when I complained. Just 2 teabags. Dinner was abysmal. Fish was smelly and old with brown goo to disguise it. A VERY tired old hotel and no I wont be returning.
