Gorgeous English Hunt Country Cottage

Historic cottage in Blue Ridge
The Windswept Inn™ is the realization of a little dream the innkeepers, Jennifer and Eric Singleton, had to create the quintessential English cottage in Virginia's Hunt country. After years of travel they knew what they loved in a hotel or inn, and decided to build "Windswept" and make it accessible for everyone who needed a respite from the grind of daily life, and expected excellence in their accommodation.

Whether you need to stay for a night on business and can't stand the idea of another impersonal box, or you want to escape to a spot no one knows about and refresh your soul, come visit us if you can keep a secret!

The Inn has a beautiful first floor that includes gourmet kitchen, fireplace, luxury bathroom with dual shower heads and heated floor. Fine furnishings and lovely art throughout and a charming spiral staircase that leads up through the 14' ceilings to two extra rooms upstairs, each with two queen beds.

This gem not to be missed...
It is rare when yo arrive a a property and find every detail a surprise and a delight. Clean, well appointed, charming...and don't miss the deer outside in the yard every morning...simply lovely and delightful!

Perfect Stay
We had a perfect stay. Internet was strong enough for five people to work and school online during the day. Very clean and safe place to rent during COVID. We were able to get food deliveries right to the unit. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommend!
This property is wonderful. My family of 3 stayed here for 5 days after traveling by train from San Diego. After an exhausting journey, The Windswept was just what we needed to relax and unwind. The property is stunning and the cottage has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, the decorative touches are classy. We visited several local wineries and restaurants - all of which were fabulous. The neighborhood is beautiful with tree-lined streets and meticulous properties. The owners are kind and attentive ..... my only regret is that I couldn’t put Peanut & Precious (their darling Doxies) in my suitcase and take them home with us. I highly recommend this rental.

Nice country stay
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was in a pretty location and the owners very warm and hospitable.

Beautiful NoVA Countryside Cottage
The Windswept Inn is exactly as described in the listing, if anything the rooms were more spacious and brighter than the photos portray. This cottage is very private, and other than check-in we did not see the owners or occupants of the main house at all. It’s also very clean. There is a lot to do in the area, we traveled with teenagers so we skipped the wineries and breweries but you could make a long weekend of those venues alone... and you would still not be able to visit them all. Instead we planned our trip around outdoor activities. Highlights: Bear’s Den, such a short drive from the house and the overlook is breathtaking. The W&OD bike trail in Purcellville is nice (and easy), grab a delicious spirit from Catoctin Distillery or a soft serve ice cream from Gruto’s (beware, the large soft serve cone is huge :). A day at Salamander Resort & Spa, we sent the kids on a zip lining tour of the treetops while Mom and Dad walked the grounds, pet the horses, strolled the butterfly gardens, and had a glass of wine in a comfy Adirondack overlooking the Grand Lawn. The Shenandoah River Center/Retreat is also worth a visit (and very close to the house). It’s the site of a former Colonel’s retreat home, and was also briefly a golf course. It’s one of the most unique parks I’ve seen, with many trails and paved paths. It seems to be very popular for leisure cyclists and serious mountain bikers. There is truly something for everyone in this area. The Inn was a perfect place to cook dinner and unwind in the evening. A must is checking out the starry sky at night, very little light pollution and the stars were incredible. We brought our fishing poles for the stocked pond, but there were downed limbs and we suspect our hooks would get caught up and it would be more trouble than the worth, this could be due to some recent storms. A lovely place, an area with lots to do, I recommend!
