Very good place to stay at,just one minut walk from the metro and the tram.The breakfirst was very good and the people who worked there were very nice.

Vienna neighborhood
The hotel proprietors were very nice and helpful. The hotel is a short subway ride from the main train station. The subway exit is within view of the hotel (buy a 24-hour pass and put it in the machine when entering the subway to date stamp). The neighborhood around the hotel had many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are extremely small but adequate. The room included a private bathroom and television. The free breakfast consisted of cold cuts, fruit, rolls (assorted jams and jellies), and eggs. I was satiated. The value was excellent.

Well located 50m from U3 metro line and S3 tram line, which put you in the center in 15 minutes. Staff is ultra friendly and helpful. Facilities are simple but clean and well kept. In the room you have everything you need. You can't find better quality/price rate in Vienna.

Excellent location, easy and quick ride to the city centre and to Schönbrunn Palace. Very pleasant, hospitable, informed, and customer sensitive couple managing the hotel. Highly recommended.

A great little hotel with excellent service
While the hotel it nothing out of the ordinary, the service you receive here is beyond friendly. The owners go out of their way to make their guest feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend the hotel.

The place is excellent..a bit far from the center but easily reachable in about 8 minutes by metro right across the street from the hotel...I can highly recommend this place..very good price-quality ratio..

Nice little place
Great location right next to the metro stop which is direct into the centre of Vienna. I didn’t look around the area too much but it seemed nice. The hotel staff are very friendly and the breakfast was good. The bed isn’t the most comfortable but for the purpose it was ok. The room had everything I needed and suited my needs I would stay here again!

My stay at Hotel-Restaurant Fritz Matauschek was great. The people were really nice and the room was comfortable and clean. I didn't have the time to explore the area much since I had some work to do, but I took a brisk walk and there were a lot of shops for everything possible. And the connection to the railway couldn't be better - it is nearby and the line goes directly to the city center.

Very enjoyable stay
Do stay at this small family-run hotel, you will be looked after well by the most helpful and friendly people! The transport connections couldn't be better and the underground and tram connections into central Vienna are frequent and very efficient. They also provide an enjoyable breakfast with the best coffee!

Very very basic accommodation. Uncomfortable bed, and terribly cold room. The owner (man) was not at all friendly. The bathroom is tiny. Quite expensive, for what they offer. The breakfast is a joke. Two dried rolls with cheese slices, coffee and orange juice.

This is a lovely traditional Viennese hotel, in the suburbs but right opposite the tube which takes about 10 minutes to the city centre (eg to Stefansplatz). Clean rooms and very good value.

Fritz is chef - good German food & beer from local brewery. His wife serves meals ad even helped me carry my suitcase and made sure I was up in time to catch my cab to airport in plenty of time. Very convenient location 100 feet from U3 Subway i

Very convenient metro station is just opposite to the hotel. Hotel staffs who are all family members I guess, are very friendly and helpful. The reception guy told me not to buy the Vienna card, just get a 48 hr transportation card would be fine. This is really true as most of the discounts offered are just 1-2 Euro which doesn't save much. The young lady even brought me out to show me the way to get to my destination. And she stopped cleaning to help carry my big baggage 2 floors down when she saw me coming out from the room.

Perfect for lonely woman
I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. It's right out of the exit of a metro station. Literally, you just have to cross a little street. The metro line is one of the main line.Shared bathroom and toilets were super clean. I felt like staying in a family. After a day, the staff knows you and recognise you immediately. The dog "Chess" is a cool doggy. I felt welcome, taken care of. And the price is insanely cheap for Vienna. Will stay there again. The speed of the internet was higher than other hotels I stay at!!!! Yes, if you would like to spend the day in your room, it's not the best rooms in the way that it's not beautiful, it's just small "Ikea" rooms. I loved it!

Room was clean and in reasonable condition, but service was mixed at best. Some staff were friendly/helpful, others offensively rude. Note that internet is only available until 10pm local time, after which it is inexplicably shut off.

A fine budget hotel
Matauschek is a fine hotel, the wifi service is limited and the laundry a bit of a distance, but the people managing are great, friendly and helpful, and the standards of cleanliness high. City centre accessible in 10 mins by the underground (station right opposite). Language (English) can be a bit of an issue, but that is true everywhere in Europe outside the UK and Scandinavia.

3 minutes to the Jewish area. 7 minutes to the Wawel castle. 10 minutes to the old town square! Good location but less traffic! 21 Zloty by Taxi from Krakow train/bus station to the hotel. 80 Zloty from hotel to the Krakow airport. Hotel is clean with air-con and lift! Price is reasonable. But the breakfast is under my expectation. Receptionists speak good English and helpful! I'll definitely come back.

Hotel Matauschek
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Matauschek. The owners are very dedicated to their family hotel and pictures of the family history adorn the walls of the cafeteria. I visited London, Paris, Vienna, and Kiev during my vacation, and my 5-day stay at the Holtel Matauschek was my most enjoyable stay. I look for good 2-star or 3-star hotels with modest rates and safe and sanitary conditions. Matauschek is the 5-star of all the 2-star and 3-star hotels I stayed in. The hotel is directly across the street from the Vienna subway system and also has a bus-stop right outside. The hotel restaurant is comfortable and has good service and good food at a great price, and breakfast is included for each night's stay. I chose the en-suite bathroom for a small extra cost per night, but each floor has a clean and convenient shower and toilet if you want to save a little bit extra. The only missing ammenity is telephone service. I had to go to the subway station to use the phone. The owners are very helpful to foreign travelers, and I saw happy guests from several nationalities during my stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Gutes,zentrales und sauberes familiengeführtes Hotel.Ausgesprochen freundlicher Empfang. Stets sehr aufmerksame und hilfsbereite Gastgeber mit genialen Tipps und Anregungen.Zimmer mit Bad alles perfekt.Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt.Gefallen hat mir, dass ich das Frühstück an den Tisch serviert bekam. Einfach super….kein Anstellen am Buffet.Ich war sehr zufrieden und werde dieses Hotel für meinen nächsten Wienbesuch natürlich wieder buchen.
