This small hotel was perfect for us. The room was clean and well-appointed. The hotel staff were fantastic. Check-in with Michelle was a breeze. The wait staff, Andre and Dalwayne, were very helpful, friendly and the service was the best we had in Jamaica. The security guards, Albert and Edward were always available on their post at the gate and were helpful and very friendly. The location of the hotel worked very well for us, as we did day trips by car.

My boyfriend and I went for 5 days the week before Christmas and had an AMAZING time. The resort is smaller, but it doesn't feel crowded. This isn't one of those monster resorts that doesn't feel like you've left the US. I actually liked that you could easily go back to your room throughout the day if you needed something and there are so many delicious places to eat that the food doesn't get monotonous. Both of the beaches are on the smaller side but unless you want to spend all your time snorkling/swimming it won't be a problem. Everyone was very nice (shout out to Paul and George!) and you could tell that they genuinely enjoyed their job. The mini fridge was always stocked with juice and water, the bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. Our room overlooked the pool but it was never loud. When we first got there the average age was mid 40s but when we left there were more people our age (late 20s/30s). We mostly stayed on the resort since there was no limit of things to do! I went scuba diving (available on site, you have to pay extra) and my bf and I went to Dunn's River Falls. The Falls were so much fun, a definite must! The scuba dive masters were fun and knowledgeable, but I've seen better fish/corals in other parts of the world. That being said, it was still totally worth it in my mind. he only downside was it rained everyday (dissipated quickly) but this caused strong wind making some water sports unavailable. Obviously this wasn't JPCs fault!

This was our second visit to FDR and it was so relaxing. Our nanny Jennifer was very attentive to our kids, which allowed us to have time to ourselves and truly relax. I loved the walks and bike rides in the mornings and my husband had a great time scuba diving. The staff are so friendly and really make your time at FDR so enjoyable. We hope to return soon!

This property has a great beach, and you are able to snorkel right there on the property. The waterpark is a huge plus for the kids. As all-inclusive resorts go, the food is solid. No, it's not like dining at restaurants in Chicago or New York City, but there are plenty of good options. The grounds are quite pretty, and the staff is so friendly, albeit slow at times. But it is, after all, Jamaica, so they take it slow and relaxed down there. Our room, which admittedly was just the basic room, was not inspiring: fairly basic, cramped for a family of four, and nothing special. But aside from sleeping, we weren't in there much, so no problem. There are suites available, so if you can splurge, you probably should. While we typically like trying different resorts, nothing would stop me from returning to this one. It's nice to be in Runaway Bay since there are a bunch of excursions near Ocho Rios.

Me and my gf decided to take a weekday trip to relax after a crazy hectic Christmas. When we arrived on Friday night check in was fine. We did have a hiccup with accessing the safe in the room because "the cashier was gone for the day." Of course after much objection the night supervisor allowed me to get the key to access the facility.
Fast forward to Saturday- we booked a deep tissue massage at the Bahia Spa- BEST PART OF THE TRIP!!! The staff and treatment were amazing and reasonably priced. We got massages, steam room and pool access and felt relaxed and rejuvenated after our treatments.
The food at the hotel is MUCH better than that at most Spanish hotels in Jamaica which tend to be on the bland side. The spices were balanced and choices were great! We even got to sneak in to the Italian restaurant, though we didn't have a reservation and enjoyed a nice dinner that ended with a banana flambe show :-)
