Our Most Disappointing Stay in 25 Years

Posted Oct 14, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: A complete overhaul and someone to be around at a reasonable hour to help guests check in.
We arrived at 8PM and there was no one in the office or reachable immediately by phone. Our key was left outside in an envelope with no instructions on how to access the wifi. We also saw no obvious signs of a TV remote. About 15 minutes after we left a message we received a callback and were told how to make the wifi work and assured that the remote was there somewhere (we eventually found the it on the floor between the nightstand and bed). An ice bucket was provided but there was no ice on the property except in the office, which apparently was closed all day. It also had a large sign that said No Refunds, of course. The property outside and in was dilapidated, the smoke-free room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the bed was very uncomfortable.

Stayed two nights

Posted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: Cheap. Also it was kind of a cool archaism that the rooms had actual keys to the locks. I don't think I have seen a hotel key in at least 10 years.
Cons: Fresh coat of paint, a little better physical plant maintenace.
Location: There is an auto parts store nearby (convenient for replacing the headlight) and three donut shops. The Saco boardwalk and beach is a short distance
Booked two rooms here for family to attend a wedding in Portland. It was a classic 50's style motor lodge (except sans Norman). The rooms were somehat dingy (cracks in ceiling plaster in one room, knobs missing or not correctly fitting on AC units, everything with that well worn lived in look. On the other hand dingy does mean dirty. The rooms were clean and comfortable enough for what we needed, a place to sleep. It was cheap and we got pretty much what I expected. Also the local police were very nice. I got pulled over Saturday at 1AM on the way to the jetport to pick up my daughter because a headlight was out. He started to pull me over on the way back too but then pulled alongside and said sorry I didn't realize it was you and waved me on.

Pros: The location is close to beach and near all the shopping malls
Cons: Is about a 2 star as it needs work inside and out but is clean and is priced accordingly.
Location: Movie theatre,Maine mall,Cabelas,Old Orchard Beach, good restaurants all very nearby
Fast check in and man at front desk was pleasant. It suited or purpose for the night

Not some place I would stay again

Posted Sep 28, 2015
VERY out dated, the carpets were damp and we had to wear our shoes. The place has a lot of water damage and is in desperate need of some updating/upkeep. Our room smelled musty and one of the blankets on each bed was pretty stained. There were stains on the ceiling and even shoe prints??!

hotel close to shopping

Posted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: relationship to shopping and dinning.
Cons: bombing for bugs
hotel appeared to be clean and neat, but the day after leaving I noted a line of 4 bites on my left but which were very itchy, 3 days later I was talking with my traveling partner who was complaining of multiple red areas on her ankles, calves, and abdomen, so since we are both nurses we are sure these are from bed bugs.

Old building with water stains on the ceiling.

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: Major structural repair
Location: Near old orchard beach which is lovely
The unit had a very bad odor and on the outside shingles were missing and post holding up the veranda roof. The photos provided by the website are deceiving.

A cheap run down motel, close to Old Orchard Beach

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Room was musty, smoky and stale smelling. Dated and run down interior and exterior. Purely a cheap option for a quick night's stay, would not recommend using this as for a vacation stay as its just not very comfortable or pleasant.

C'est vieux, et très défraichi,

Posted Aug 29, 2015
Pros: propre limite
