Bday getaway

Did not get a good check-in. Also did not get what I paid for. When I call the hotel prior to checking in, I asked about my food and drink credit they stated I was entitled the food and beverage credit which i paid for in addition to the room which includes a free manager reception with all rooms. When checking in the clerk stated I got good deal through Expedia, and let know how much more the room was going for at that time. When asking about the credit, he ask if I wanted to canceled my room, and stated he will wait to check me iin just case I did. At that point I ask who do I talk to about the credit he said, they have nothing at all to do with the credit and I needed to talk to Expedia. I immediately called Expedia who assist me, the last person was beret caring and showed empathy for my horrible experience, this made my trip better, after such a bad check-in experience. The hotel did not have enough luggage carts to unload my luggages, it took approximately 4 hrs to get my luggage to the room. The hotel never accommodated me or even offered a credit. Expedia made my trip worth it they care about there customers and did give compensation for my lost, and interruption. Thank you Expedia.

Great hotel

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Forego the tub to make it a better shower.
Location: On the river front, in the old part of town.
I love this hotel. The only negative is the shower is a bit small. Otherwise I cannot find any fault at all.

Not worth the expense.

Pros: The gym was nice and quite clean.
Cons: Price.
Location: Crocker Art Museum
It's a perfectly fine hotel although the rooms are dated and need to be refurbished. The shocking thing was the cost for such a middle-of-the-road hotel in a so-so location. The gym was nice. I won't stay there again unless I have no other options.

Pros: Great view of the River and breakfast included!
Walking distance to Old town Sac. Great view of the river and very spacious rooms. Would definitely stay here again!

A step above the rest.

Pros: What's not to like?
Cons: I would love to see some kind of midweek economy program for repeat guests.
Location: Old Sacramento and the river is right across the street (Capital Mall). In walking distance of downtown, the Capital and historic section.
A view of Tower-Bridge & the Sacramento River from our room, less than 1 block from Old-Sac, and walking distance to my appointment on Capital Mall: Separate bed & living rooms with a T.V. radio and closet in each separated by an alcove with fridge, microwave & Keurig coffee service. Free evening drinks and snacks and full breakfast (buffet & service counter) starting at 6 a.m. Opening your door to a balcony overlooking the gorgeous open atrium makes other facilities feel claustrophobic. With all of it's amenities (pool, fitness center, bar, restaurant, patio, etc. ), it's completely self-contained. When you factor all of this in, the price (when compared to other area facilities), is more than competitive. Definitely the place to stay if Old Sacramento is where you want to be.

Horrible. For the price, I'd never stay there agai

Pros: the staff.
Cons: Remodel the rooms, make self parking available, sound proof the windows.
Location: on the Sacramento river, Old town Sacramento
Self parking is non existent. Valet parking is the only parking available. The room's construction was half assed. Train blowing its horn constantly. The staff really were the best. But the hotel itself wasn't worth the price.

Exceptional hotel

Pros: Everything, but especially the friendly staff and the services they provided.
Cons: None.
Location: Located in downtown Sacramento adjacent to Old Sacramento and history museums.
Two day stay adjacent to Old Sacramento. This is a great hotel with an exceptional staff, service, and amenities. The included breakfast is excellent,and there is an evening happy hour with snacks and free drinks. Very good location for business meetings or personal family gatherings. The staff provides complete service from arrival to departure. The hotel is very clean and is in a quiet city location. We felt it was an exceptional hotel well worth the cost.

Perfect location

In town for a wedding and first time in Sacramento. With only two days there location afforded us many walking opportunities along river walk as well as old Town section and several restaurants. Full included breakfast at hotel was a plus.

Nice hotel by the river

Pros: Spacious and well-appointed suites. Location close to the Riverfront Promenade and boardwalk.
Cons: Room cleaning needs to be improved
Location: Riverfront Promenade and boardwalk has lots of little shops, and cafes and restaurants. And a steam train!
Arrived in Sacramento for a wedding and my wife and I opted to stay at a different hotel than the rest of the wedding party and guests (the Citizen). It was a mixed blessing as the Embassy Suites Riverfront Promenade hotel was far more spacious than the other property, had a decent fitness studio and a small indoor pool. Breakfast was included and so we were extremely happy with the bang for the buck. We also want to highlight the excellent staff which made an impression on us. Everyone from the valet parking folks to the front desk to the wait staff all were polite and positive and extremely helpful. Kudos. What we were disappointed in was the service in the room; after a couple of days we asked for the room to be cleaned and it was given a cursory once over with no regard for actual cleaning. This certainly did not warrant the $5 tip for housecleaning we left. Used glasses from the lounge were uncollected, crumbs in the bed indicated that the sheets were not changed but the bed just made, the ironing board and iron were left out and not put away. This was the only disappointment during our stay.
