Nice hotel for quick stay on highway 80

Posted Aug 17, 2016
We needed a quick nights rest from travel and this hotel was right next to highway 80 so we decided to book it last minute on the road. We called and made sure we'd be able to check in late and the lady at the front desk was very kind and said she'd stay as late as we needed which was very kind of her. We were warmly greeted and check in was a breeze. The rooms we comfortable and clean. Complimentary breakfast was provided which included waffles, eggs, cereal, fruit, juice, milk, coffee. Overall, we had a pleasant stay!

Nice hotel, bad area and not non smoking

Posted Jul 15, 2016
Pros: Rooms with double beds have queen size beds so two people can actually sleep on them. This is very helpful when traveling with kids. Room was quiet.
Cons: Air conditioner only had one speed - very low. Took quite a while to cool down room. Shower head mechanism was broken.
Location: Hotel is in a very bad area of town. There are no restaurants real close. Neighborhood is not somewhere you'd want a woman or kid walking.
Check in was very pleasant and fast. Woman working the front desk was extremely pleasant and offered us waters. Rooms and common areas are very clean and nice. Seems like a newer hotel. Breakfast was typical full breakfast but was hot and very good. No complaints at all and staff member working the breakfast time was very nice. I want to give this a hotel a very high rating but there were a couple of issues: Shower handle was broken. We got a handicap room and so the shower head is mounted on a sliding pole, but the mechanism was broken so it sprayed at your waist. We didn't notice until morning so couldn't really do anything about it. The worst issue was I thought this was a non-smoking hotel, they even make you sign a statement saying you won't smoke! But when we went to the pool there was a man smoking a cigar at the pool. Even though we moved across the pool from the smoke it was still horrible. I told the woman at the front desk and she was very understanding and went to the pool and saw the man smoking but didn't say anything to him or approach him. I didn't want my kids around the second hand smoke so we left the pool. Kids were upset for having to leave since it was so hot that day. If you are going to state you are smoke free than you should enforce it.

One night stopover

We stopped for one night while traveling from Seattle to San Diego. It is an older hotel but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was good.

We stayed while my daughter played in a softball tournament in the area. It was perfect for what we needed.

Great overall. Location was the lowest rates but once you were inside the hotel it was easy to forget where you were. Felt safe. Very clean, comfortable, and accommodating staff. Free breakfast daily. Suite was great. Pool was small but nice and away from the road.

Will stay here again

What you would expect for $150 a night. Why the 5 stars? Because my cheap butt expects a lot and was not disappointed. Breakfast was the same food as most of these places but everything was good. Of course you can't go wrong with make your own waffles but danish and muffins were soft, fresh and delicious. Bacon was crisp and scrambled eggs were cooked perfect. Room was comfortable and most importantly clean. Checked everywhere before writing this review and the staff really did a good job. Front desk has been exceptionally friendly (as they should be). Even the lady working breakfast had a constant smile and greated everyone. Room has microwave and refrigerator which is plus for us. Wifi speed is only about 1.5 Mbps as hilton charges $5 a day for hi speed (gives free as a perk to diamond and platinum hhonor members). Room was comfortable. Decent beds and shower had great water pressure and hot water. Took a morning walk around area. Nice area. Not affluent but not a lot of places for transients so pretty safe area. No restaurants in walking distance. Easy access to freeway and main streets.

I went to go see family. The hair dryer kept turning off because of the plug, needed a maintenance person twice. People were rude at 3 in the morning in the hallway. I will not stay here again, noisy and breakfast was ok.
