hotel has potential after remodeling

Rooms are clean, but too dark. Had to stand on a chair to turn air conditioner on. Staff was very attentive. Should have iron and board in room, but they were available upon request. Lots of complimentary drinks available. Bed was comfortable. Gated entries make it very secure in a not so great neighborhood.

Fräscht ovanligt motel med mycket trevligt mottaga

Mycket ambitiös och trevlig ägare som servade hela tiden. Tyvärr är rummen väldigt kompakta med fläkten näst intill onåbar uppe vid taket och kylen får man krypa in till under skrivbordet. I övrigt väldigt fräscht med en liten trevlig trädgård.

John, the general manager, was very enjoyable to talk with and he gave me the history of the hotel. We had several interests in common and he was very helpful whenever I needed anything.

cute, little hotel with fantastic service

We stayed at the Greens hotel for one night only. I called ahead to make sure the room would be ready for a late check in. John, who was working the front desk assured me it would be alright and he turned the heat on for us so the room would be warm when we arrived (it was raining). The room was very clean and the hotel is very cute. We checked in and were offered free waters right away. We had a really good night's sleep. The bed looked newer and the bathroom was incredibly clean and also looked new. The next morning, while checking out, John gave us some really nice recommendations for breakfast (we ended up eating at Steamer's in old Sacramento, which he recommended.I am still thinking about the sandwich I got there because it was so delicious). There are only two things i didn't like about the hotel. The lighting and the neighborhood. I was in a hurry to get ready the next morning and thought the hotel room didn't have enough lightening to find my belongings in a quick manner. Also, the hotel is not in a very good neighborhood.

Design-centered Hotel with Lovely Staff

I stayed here for 2 nights on business. I did not get to do a bunch of sight seeing or explore much of the city. It seemed like not much was within walking distance but there was plenty to do with in a ten minute drive. It was a great location for me because I was driving around different parts of Sacramento and this centrally located for me. The hotel itself is very cute and well-designed. Service was wonderful. Lobby area has snacks and coffee (a life saver after driving forever to arrive). There are multiple gardens and an outdoor pool on site which would be really nice to use if I were visiting in the warmer months. I enjoyed that the premise was gated which made me feel a lot safer. Only issues were: there are no deadbolts on the doors! When traveling alone I really like that added layer of security. The gated entrance helped to calm the safety concerns but still would really like to see a better locking set up. The other issue was that the heater/AC as SO LOUD! The staff was really nice in the sense that they called to see when I'd arrive so they could warm the room for me. That being said, it was very loud if I wanted to warm the room while inside. One last bonus: there were some really adorable street cats running around the premise (I guess the owner had "adopted" them)

Cassandra, Thank you so very much for your comments. I am sorry that the HVAC unit was noisy, I will have it looked at! I will verify all of the doors have industrial chain locks as well. Perhaps yours was missing for some reason? Informational: We do have stainless steel chain locks on the doors as another locking device. All of the windows, doors, and most of the furniture are custom made for the hotel! All of the safety latches, locks etc. are industrial quality. Even the door frames are custom made and are metal.

The Greens Hotel

The Hotel was good but what made it great was the Hospitality! 100%.....Great service was the reason I can overlook other issues such as the neighborhood. Very safe inside the hotel area, it's gated.
