Weekend Stay

My cousin and I stayed in a two queen room during a weekend convention and were very impressed with the amenities available. The room and public areas of the hotel were well-kept. We did not use the pool but that also looked well-kept. Right next to the hotel isn't the best scenery but it's not far from some rural areas of Saginaw which can be beautiful in the warmer months.

Nice hotel

Clean! Beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and check in was quick. There was no free breakfast and that would have made the stay better.

You Will Want to Stay Here!

Pros: The 2014 Renovation was tastefully done.
This is a great place to stay whether you are in Saginaw for business, or if you are simply looking for a reasonably priced place to stop after shopping in Birch Run.

Girls Weekend

We had the thermostat set for 65 degrees but the room was sooo hot, we were sweating at night! There were young girls running up and down the hallway all night and first thing in the morning. When we went down to the front desk in the morning we saw a large crowd on young girls in uniform, they must have been there for a dance competition. We didn't get any sleep that weekend. Very disappointing that there was not a continental breakfast. Hotels.com said breakfast available, but they meant the IHOP next door or the Denny's restaurant. They did offer a 15% discount, but not as easily accessible as down in the lobby. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave.

Getting Bumped

The hotel room was lovely. However, we got a call at 9:00 pm on the night of our stay before we had checked in to say that they had overbooked the hotel and they wanted to move us to another hotel down the road. There were four of us and the room that they had booked at the other hotel only had one king size bed. When I said this would not work for us unless we could have two beds, the customer service rep. was not very helpful. She made it seem like Sheraton was doing us a favour that we did not appreciate. She even made the comment that our room at the other hotel would be complimentary. However, I had already paid for the room at the Sheraton so it was not complimentary in any way. I told her this and got some more attitude. Eventually, they said that there was a room for us at the Sheraton that we could have. However, she was still making it seem like they were doing us a favour and we just couldn't appreciate it. It is hardly a bump up when two of our party would have no bed. When I asked her to confirm that it was a double room at the Sheraton, she said that it was a room with "a double bed". I questioned her about this to make sure it was, in fact, a double room (two beds) and not just one double bed. Her response was a terse "That is what I meant." However, with all the confusion and it not being what she had said, I would expect her to understand my question. Overall, I was not impressed at the whole ordeal.
