Saint-Alexis-des-Monts Vacations from $526

This is sort of an odd hotel. We like quirky boutique hotels, but this one is uneven at best. Great location but rooms on the street are incredibly noisy. We moved to a quieter inside room the second night. No Kleenex in first room but two boxes in second. No toilet paper holder or toilet paper in the second even though the maid had alerted the staff. Very loud creaky floors. Elaborate showers with two shower heads for couples but little water pressure. A window into the room so others can watch you shower. The continental breakfast consists of soggy croissants, corn flakes, sweet yogurt, and canned fruit cups. Some folks seem to love it, but we won’t be back. The staff we dealt with were very nice.

This place was so nice. The unit was clean, kitchen had everything we needed to cook and clean with, there was detergent for the washer. I’ve read other reviews that it is loud around there - it’s a city (but still quieter than my hometown city). We basked in the morning and afternoon sun on the terrace and swam in the rooftop pool. Fitness center and saunas are both nice. One block to metro stop, lots of restaurants around, across from Concordia, walkable, grocery stores nearby, 3 blocks to St Catherine shopping district, close to fine arts museum. A+ staff (Hi Selma!).

The room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent. It was right by the water and surrounded by restaurants, shops, and public transportation.

Fun room, the bed was comfortable for two of us, but the sofa bed was not made. We had to make the bed, and we had to put the duvet cover on. We also had to call up another set of towels, despite the hotel knowing we were 3 people to the room. The bathroom was clean, and well maintained. The room was cool despite it being mid-August. There wasn't too much noise at night either. Otherwise the kitchen was on the third floor (no elevators, but not a problem for us). It was clean, and well stocked with coffee pods and single use creamers. The rooftop was also accessible on the 4th floor, and fun to have coffee on! Bonus- There are croissants at the entrance early in the morning if you're up early enough! Otherwise there's a well known (but busy) café 2 min walk away.
