I want to stress that this hotel is not for everybody due to its location a little further from the train station and central areas. I turned 61 this year and am in good health and decent shape. So I had no problem walking 20-25 minutes from the train station to the hotel including a long flight of stairs uphill about a block away from the hotel (with one small rolling carry-on). I love the location, the exterior and interior decor of the hotel and my room. The advantage of the location is that it was in quiet neighborhood, there are several museums and adjacent restaurants about 2-3 blocks away via those same stairs. All of the staff were awesome and the hotel's restaurant was a full service one, unlike some others during the reopening phase of the Pandemic climate. I didn't have every meal there but I did have breakfast and dinner there and both were excellent.

Very nice hotel
Stayed in the hotel as I was attending a family gathering in the city as my brother lives there. The hotel staff was very helpful and the room clean and good size. Very nice shower gel and attentive staff. Would come back again and I recommend to others

Lovely hotel
Very nice hotel, nice people and good service. Only downside was that our room (3 bed family room) didn’t live up to the photos on the listing. But all in all great little hotel

Great Hotel!
Great hotel. Staff is amazing--went out of their way to help us. We arrived late, exhausted and hungry. They allowed us to eat at their restaurant even though it was almost closing and even offered us that opportunity, without me having to ask. Very friendly and kind.

I like the great COVID safety and cleanliness protocol at "Hotel am Triller", from the app based checkin to the rooms, and other facilities. Through all of this, the personnel was also super helpful and friendly.

The hotel overall was ok but the room was down some creepy hallways that light up as you walk down them but before the lights go on its dark and has a deserted feel to it. The room was fine although it does have a bit of a Las Vegas feel to it with the shower showing into the room through a glass window. Amenities were sparse and tissue box was empty. Nice breakfast in the morning although not included with the room.

Fantastic bedroom with huge bed and brilliant shower! Modern and quirky decor and well equipped for laptops etc. The hotel is built on a hill so reception etc. Is on the top floor with bedrooms below. Nice restaurant with friendly staff. Superb breakfast.

Unique, unforgettable room designs
The startling but crisply appealing room design was intriguing even to a non-reader of German. It will be one of the hotels I will remember forever even though I was there for only one night. It was great that it was easy to walk to the heart of activity in Saarbrucken.

short stay of 2 nights
During our stay of 2 nights the hotel was not fully booked. It was very clean, the breakfast was good with lots of choices. At our arrival the receptionist asked us if we liked our room, if not we could change it. That was impressive. We liked the lounge area at the pool and the garden. However, there is no sun in the garden from the afternoon onwards. Also, it is quite a long way to the city center, you could not really walk that. You need a car or need to take a taxi. The price is fair.

Dont use Hotel.com but this hotel was fine.
The place was fine and close to subway. Beds were comfy and if you want to use the pool you need to own a speedo. No regular surfer suits aloud. They were very strict about that and not very nice about it.

A Thriller of a Hotel
Really great hotel and friendly staff. Only point of note is if you’re on foot with cases etc then bit of fitness required as located up a hill. The flip side of that is that it also provides great views. Great beer as well.

A really nice hotel that overlooks the whole of Saarbrucken. The only gripe was the pool wasn't heated. Only stayed for 1 night and got everything expected for the price we paid

Modern
Art was cool . Had a nice wall painting above the bed. 50ish comic theme. Enjoyed seeing it a different approach to decorating. Very clean hotel even with 2 lower floors being in total renovations. Located on a high hill but had a map of city below as told was very doable to walk . It was and very enjoyable.

Beautiful hotel
Hotel is in a nice location. Food is nice and the service is fantastic. Everyone in the service staff was very friendly and helpful. They could accomodate all my requests. Keep in mind to ask hotel explicitly for a room with AC. Some of the rooms don't have it. My room didn't have an AC but the weather was fantastic and I didn't quite need it.

Great eco design hotel - perfect for vegans too!
We loved this hotel. We stayed here with our little baby and the staff was wonderful. We are vegan, and the restaurant was fantastic for that. The chef made two great dishes for us. The breakfast was also great. The restaurant is organic certified. The rooms are very nicely decorated. All arty and very comfortable.

Nice hotel in a good location
The staff was very nice and the breakfast is very good. I would rate it more 3 to 3 1/2 stars than 4 since its not luxurious to be 4 stars in my opinion. But it is good value for the money.

Very pleasant, calm, clean, tasteful and quiet
Room had a nautical theme - water bed, sail and mast in the room and murals of sandy beaches. Bathroom and shower were wonderful. The pool and sauna and gym were great. breakfast was really good with lots of variety.

Really friendly hotel!
The Hotel Am Triller was a really good stop off on a Euro-roadtrip, we got held up, so we didn't arrive until around 1am, but the hotel were very happy to help us that late at night, and helped us find parking (their parking was full.) The next morning we had the opportunity to use the pool, and the sauna which was a welcome surprise, and then the concierge gave us very good instructions to wander into town and enjoy a nice relaxed breakfast! We would definitely stay here again!

Great location with parking
Good hotel in a very convenient local to the old city area. Big room. Free parking at the rear of hotel even with the closure for renovations of the park at the front of the hotel.

Nice modern rooms, excellent breakfast
Nice modern rooms. Excellent breakfast, and good hotel restaurant. A bit further away from the city centre, but still within walking distance. Great if you have a car, as there's free parking.

Perfect location
The hotel was a short walk - down many stairs - to the Castle at Saarbrucken, then a short walk to shopping, restaurants and the train station. We really got our bang for the buck by staying there, enjoying the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel and visiting the surrounding area. The restaurant at the hotel was amazing; both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Most of the staff spoke English, and truly went out of their way to ensure our comfort.

Nice hotel with quirky style
Needed a hotel for a 1 day stop over in Saarbruecken - found this gem! Nicely done 'theme' hotel - I stayed in the Saar-legends section. Very nice rooms, which I found very comfortable. Had some of the local specialties at the restaurant, and was not disappointed! One also need to try the home-brew (or at least home-label...). Staff was very friendly and helpful in all respects. The location is up-hill from down-town (~15minutes, dependent on your pace), so if you're not too keen on walking, a cab ride may be on order. Personally, I enjoyed the walk to the historic downtown. Relatively easy to get to from Autobahn, but for those final turns a GPS is recommended... Definitely a place to keep on the list!

A FUN STAY!
Hotel Am Triller is a fun and interesting place to stay in Saarbruken Germany. All the rooms appear to be decorated differently and very well done. Breakfast was FABULOUS!! We had dinner there too and while it was very slow it was quite good.
