Great location but still very quiet.

Wonderful staff, great food, impressive but comfortable accommodations. An overall memorable experience. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the bathroom otherwise no complaints at all. The staff were professional while still being personable and friendly.

Many thanks for your kind comments : you did appreciate the staff, the food, the bedroom. We check and improve the light in the bathroom if it's required. Best regards.

When we arrived at this hotel after three hours' travel from Paris on the TGV, the place was empty, dark and there were no cars around. My husband got down to go to the front desk and the hotel door was LOCKED and we could not see anyone there. We kept knocking and calling for about ten minutes and no one answered. Then we heard a very large dog barking, we got scared and left. I told Hotels.com and then someone from the hotel said that she was there, that she saw us and that she thinks we saw her. If we had, we would have turned back. we had nowhere to stay that night and had to go into town to look for another hotel. The hotel refuses to return my money, I have never had such a BAD EXPERIENCE in my life. To arrive at night to a hotel out in the boonies, in a very dark and lonely place, to find it locked and empty and then have a huge dog barking like crazy at us. I insist that this person from the hotel, Carole, return our payment., as any serious and honest business person would.

Gorgeous chateau very close to town but feels like you're out in the country. Tricky to find at night the first time, but well worth the effort. We arrived after a long day traveling and sight seeing, around 8pm, and hadn't yet had dinner. We were delighted to find they have their own restaurant. Our delight was discovering sensational food with artistic presentation. It was a fine dining experience right in the chateau! On site management is personal and helpful and they speak English. Highly recommend!

Romantic castle minutes from St Malo

Posted Sep 6, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel is located only 10 min drive from St Malo that we were visiting. It was very close and convenient and we were able to go back to the hotel to refresh before going back out for dinner. The hotel itself is a beautiful castle on a beautiful property. It has all the modern amenities you would need but with that life in a castle vibe. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet had some home-made traditional local pastries along with your choice of eggs, cheese, meat: great assortment! It was a fantastic romantic gateway. Would definitely recommend and go back!

Beautiful property and grounds

Posted Aug 10, 2016
Pros: Beautiful exterior and grounds and public rooms. Staff is very helpful.
Cons: The bathrooms, especially the 'jet' showers, towel quality are very much lacking
The chateau is simply beautiful and peaceful, with very comfortable beds and nice amenities. This is certainly not top of the line luxury, or even four star by most measures, but the place is quaint and charming and you do feel like you are staying in a historic home. We enjoyed it very much.

Dear Sir or Madam, Many thanks for your comments which allow us to grow up in quality. We've just begun at Colombier in 2015, and we refurbished a lot (inside and outside). But as you know or guess it this kind of "house" needs a lot of "care" ! and we try to do our best in order to satisfy our guests. We are looking forward hearing from you, kind regards. Chateau on edge of St Malo

Posted Jun 23, 2016
well the shower was awful and we succeeded in flooding reception do to poor layout of shower in bath. advertises tea/ coffee facilities in the room but you have 1 tea bag each and one milk. asked at reception for more to be told no more you order tea downstairs. shown breakfast room piled high with bed linen then nextmorning find out we could have breakfast in conservatory like most other guests. definitely not worth the money!!

Dear Sir and Madam, I apologize if your shower didn't work very well, meanwhile I came and check what's happening, I rmember I changed every towels so wet ! Moreover about the courtesy tray, obviously the goal is to welcome you. What I said, if you wish some more you are able to serve you a cup of tea outside or in the lounge. Kind regards. Carole LANGLET
