The room was spacious. A few more lights would have made it better. The desk was a built in fridge so it was rather inconvenient to pull up a chair and work on my laptop there. The bed wasn't bad, but I could feel the coils beneath the covers. The multilingual staff was with one exception not that skilled in English. They arranged horseriding for me, but the stables wasn't anywhere near the hotel. The cafe wasn't at the property either. It was a few minutes walk down toward the beach I finally found the gym...

One night at the Central Sal...
I stayed at the Central Sal for only one night. On a positive note Bette Frittes, on reception was lovely... warm, efficient and friendly. This was in contrast to the night receptionist..... My room was 205 at the back of the hotel. I did make the point to Bette that there was a strong sodium street lamp directly outside of the window and the thin voile curtains did nothing to shade this. A blackout lining is needed. Furnishings were basic, the decor and lighting were oppressive. Aircon was an extra 10 euros per night and whilst the website photos show a beachside terrace, this is in fact at the Cafe del Mar where guests can obtain a 10% reduction in their bill. There is a nice roof terrace at the hotel so you can relax in the sun.... the bar did not have any beer though! Location is fine providing that you don't wish to be beside the sea, so this is a good basic option, but don't expect luxury.

Hotel was about four streets back from the sea.
The hotel was very clean,and the staff were lovely and so helpful. Very poor reception on the room Television and the fridge leaked. Dogs constantly barking and children playing in the street until all hours made it difficult to sleep.

The photos make the hotel look really nice but they don't reflect reality. The hotel is situated in the back streets in the middle of what looks like a bomb site. The local area is awful, the noise outside is horrendous with dogs barking constantly all night. You get what you pay for. The staff were really good, the room was cleaned daily and Adilson on the front desk was really helpful but as far as getting anything done, we asked for extra pillows, never got them so we used to take cushions from the lounge area every night. Half the bulbs in the room were not working so we asked for new bulbs, never happened so we took them from the lounge area ourself. The light on the balcony didn't work so we asked for it to be fixed - didn't happen. The roof terrace wasn't available, I was told that there was maintenance going on. If you can afford it stay at a better hotel.
