I stayed at the Central Sal for only one night. On a positive note Bette Frittes, on reception was lovely... warm, efficient and friendly. This was in contrast to the night receptionist.....
My room was 205 at the back of the hotel. I did make the point to Bette that there was a strong sodium street lamp directly outside of the window and the thin voile curtains did nothing to shade this. A blackout lining is needed. Furnishings were basic, the decor and lighting were oppressive.
Aircon was an extra 10 euros per night and whilst the website photos show a beachside terrace, this is in fact at the Cafe del Mar where guests can obtain a 10% reduction in their bill. There is a nice roof terrace at the hotel so you can relax in the sun.... the bar did not have any beer though!
Location is fine providing that you don't wish to be beside the sea, so this is a good basic option, but don't expect luxury.
