This was our third hotel stay during a two month vacation to Spain. My wife & I choose this hotel because it was a Marriott and well priced! Unfortunately we where "ROBBED AT THE FRONT RECEPTION COUNTER IN THE LOBBY" of my backpack which I had set down by my feet! This incident was caught on camera! IT WAS THEN EXPLAINED TO US THAT THE MARRIOTT LOBBY WAS A "PUBLIC SPACE" & NOTHING COULD BE DONE FOR US! IT WOULD BE OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GO TO THE POLICE TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT! YOU'D THINK THEY'D WANT TO REPORT THIS TO THE POLICE, TO HELP PROTECT THEIR PROPERTY & THEIR REPUTATION! PUBLIC SPACE? THERE IS ONE "WIDE OPEN" ENTRANCE WITH ACCESS TO NO OTHER BUSINESS. I GUESS WE HAD TOO HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF BEING "SAFE IN A MARRIOTT HOTEL"! THE MANAGER DID COMP OUR 3 BREAKFAST'S. OUR NETT LOSS THEN BECAME APPROXIMATELY 500 EURO'S.

Dear Guest, First of all, we are very sorry for the incident you suffered at the Hotel. As it says and we have seen in the cameras there were very few people in the lobby of the hotel at that time, but it is a public place where not only people who are staying at the hotel, many people from outside the hotel come. They are customers of both the cafeteria and the hotel restaurant when it is open. Being a public space, each client is responsible for guarding their belongings, as is done in airports and other public spaces. Our staff did not detect anything suspicious, during some hours of the day we have a security guard to try to avoid these situations but unfortunately this time it was not avoided and we deeply felt what happened. At the time of the incident when you let us know what had happened immediately we called the police. We try to help you as much as possible and advise you to put the complaint in the police station. On Monday at 08:00 the head of reception advised him of what he had to do and you went to his embassy. It wasn´t enough and on tuesday she accompanied him to the consulate to help him since you do not speak spanish. When we did not get the visa, we went back to the hotel and we kept looking for information on how to get it. From the hotel we sent an email to the Consulate to try to get an appointment and after a few hours they wrote to us saying that they would receive him. We returned to the consulate with you, this time it was the second head of reception who accompanied him again to help you. From the Hotel we have done everything in our power to help you since the client is the most important thing for us. Receive a cordial greeting.

Help!

Posted Mar 5, 2018
Pros: The simple acts of human kindness!
Cons: Definitely do not change personnel. Love everything but the room decor could be softer and not so commercial feeling.
Location: NA too tired after airports for 3 days.
We arrived tired and with missing luggage. The hotel employees were the most helpful. Not speaking Spanish and the lack of English speaking employees at the airport made life difficult. Your front desk personnel helped by speaking to those at lost luggage get the ball rolling and gave our information to the Iberia Airlines's to start the process. Your bellhop was extremely helpful and courteous as well and brought a smile to our face. 3 days traveling from Boston to Dallas then not making the connection given from AA by 2 minutes, making a change in our reservation to Philadelphia (even though I said with the storm it is not a good connection,) then finding no way to get to Madrid until I reminded AA that Iberia was a partner (and this was frequent flyer mileage) so we flew to Mexico City and then to Madrid. Three days and now lost luggage. But your employees were the most helpful and kind, including the lemonade. Thank you, Marriott for putting a smile on our face!

Room Facilities & Service

Posted Dec 30, 2017 on Hotels
The room lacked coffee- tea facilities. Over Holiday period it is pointless staying there. I will not recommend the hotel. Terrible experience. Also no coffee shop nor hot eating facilities.

Excellent hotel

Posted Nov 23, 2017 on Orbitz
Location: Location was in a residential district, lots of good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Pretty close to a couple of metro stations.
Room and bathroom were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

A good hotel choice for visiting the IFEMA feria

Posted Sep 26, 2017 on Hotels
A good hotel choice for visiting the IFEMA feria. The hotel in simply designed, with out any significant style or personality, as expected for a big chain hotel. Our room was on the top floor, very quiet, no view, very clean, nice bathroom, the bed could be a bit more firm. But all in all a good stay.

Pros: clean modern
Cons: add safe to room. fix 2nd door so it locks properly
Location: ?
I thought it had free shuttle to airport, but the bus trip to airport was easy and cheap! I was surprised to hear that taxi would be no less that 30 euro! The room was nice modern and clean, and there were real wash clothes. However, There was NO SAFE! There was a second door instead of a window. That door opened out on the the street/fire escape, and the lock did not fully engage. It was only fixed at the bottom of the door. Above that point, it would crack open such that it could be easily pried open. Needless to say, I carried all of my valuables with me.
