Lovely little modern hotel at Saldahna. Spacious room, comfortable bed, very large marble bath, terrace, bright and quiet. Staff was quite good, especially Celia Cardoso, who arranged for an amazing dinner at an excellent restaurant quite nearly across the street and was otherwise immensely helpful. Very highly recommend.

"Modern, New Hotel, Great Location Outside City Ctr"
A pretty cool, modern hotel, which is what I wanted. Across the street from one of the entrances to the Saldanha Metro, so the location is perfect. I actually took a long walk from the hotel to the historic center of Lisbon on the day I arrived, as I was in a mood for a long hike and to explore. Otherwise, take the Metro into the city center.
One thing that I did not like was the person working the front desk, Tiago M. When I arrived, he did not bother to even acknowledge me. Didn’t look up from what he was doing, or say anything, despite the fact that I was at the check-in desk and standing in front of him! It really set a bad impression. Later, I had to ask him to actually see if a room was ready, to allow me to check in early. It seemed like such a chore for him to check with housekeeping to see if a room was available. Basically, he gave off the vibe that he wasn’t to be bothered. The following day, I had a conversation with another person working the check-in desk, and she was very professional and welcoming.
As for the hotel room, the one I got was small. There are no walls separating the sleeping area from the bathroom, just a sheer drape that you can draw if you wanted to. The toilet was in a “pod” and the shower was in another “pod.” If you’re sharing a room with someone else, make sure you’ve got no issues with privacy. Otherwise, the room was fine for a single traveler.

We had a wonderful holiday in Lisbon. The hotel was really good. There was a metro stop opposite the front door! Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very good with lots of variety on offer every day. E came home saying it was one of the best breaks we have had.

A metro station on Lisbon’s yellow and red lines, the busy Saldanha business district surrounds a central square honoring its namesake Duke of Saldanha, a distinguished military leader. The Atrium Saldanha and Dolce Vita Monumental shopping malls attract locals on their lunch hour. The nearby classic Café Versailles, open since 1922, tempts passing visitors with a variety of scrumptious pastries.
