Decent historical hotel close to everything

Hawthorne Hotel is right in downtown Salem, walking distance from many of the city’s tourist sites. Old world charm consistent with the hotels history. Room was adequate with very small bathroom and beds were very firm. The restaurant in the hotel was better than expected and staff were friendly and informative with maps of all the sites downtown.

Very friendly staff and the hotel is very comfortable and unique. It is also close to everything you'd want to explore in Salem.

good location; mediocre accommodations

Pros: service and location
Cons: room size; lower the price for small rooms
good location. good service. But for the (high) price, the room was small and the bathroom smaller. fortunately only stayed one night.

Very nice hotel

We loved staying at this hotel! The staff was helpful and welcoming! We had dinner at the Tavern inside and everything was great. Our server/bartender was very attentive. They have a good amount of parking space out back and across the street. You can walk to all the main attractions and museums from this hotels location. We even walked to the House of Seven Gables from there and it was a really nice walk close by the water. The history of the hotel is amazing as well! I would definitely stay here again and would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Very nice room for a center of Salem experience.

Pros: Location and history
Cons: The breakfast was nice but the service could be a bit better.
Location: Salem has all the witch trial museums and house of Seven of the Seven Gables. There is a lot of history and of course the Essex Museum.
We were able to walk pretty much to everything i Salem. Check-in was a breeze and the room was very nice, There is a nice pub and restaurant in the hotel.

Very nice hotel. Just stayed overnight. Nice, centrally located down town. walking distance to nice restaurants and museums. Would 100% stay again!!! Tavern bar and restaurant was very nice too .

Over priced room horrible

300$ for a room my luggage would not fit in Ridiculous to rent such horrible rooms and charge That much.
