Just ok

I stay in a lot of these types of hotels. Breakfast variety good, but quality not so. My room was spacious but unfortunately smelled slightly like urine. Exercise equipment was available but old.

Pros: Convenient and affordable.
Cons: Front desk staff training.
Location: It's on the main drag with plenty of restaurant and entertainment choices, as well as other hotel choices.
It was our anniversary weekend. After a very pleasant lunch river cruise, on the spur of the moment we decided to travel to Ocean City (Saturday). We had never been there that we could recall. We didn't book the hotel until after dinner, about 9:45 pm, once we decided we wanted to stay in the area. Most OC hotels we contacted were either booked or were charging more than we were willing to pay. This Salisbury area hotel was OK and the staff was pleasant. However, the guy who checked us in charged us even though I told him, and he should have been able to independently verify through our Expedia reservation, that we had already paid for the room through Expedia. I thought he we swiping our card for possible incidental charges. However, the next morning my wife told me we had the hotel room charge pending. We spoke to the front desk about it, while we were checking out (Sunday). They said it was a hold and it would clear in 24 hours. However, the following afternoon (Monday) my wife told me we were charged by the hotel. That evening I reported it to Expedia and they called the hotel. The hotel said they will process the refund in the morning (Tuesday) once the manager returns. We are still waiting (Friday) for our refund of the double charge. Did the front desk clerk not trust us? Were we targeted for this treatment? Do I ever want to stay there again?

Trying to update rooms. Eventually will get there. Room had a strong odor. Bed was very comfortable. Good breakfast. A little pricey for what you get.
