    Coincidentally Inconvenient

When I arrived I thought I had found a great deal. The hotel itself and the staff were great. The town/village has a few good pubs, plenty of locals to strike up a conversation with, and a grocery store or two. I didn't think anything of the pub across the street that had a party start around 8 or 9 p.m. It wasn't until I got back at 11 - 11:30 from another pub down the street that I started to worry as the party kept going. I figured surely they'd be done at 12, then surely 1, then 2, then finally 3 a.m. When I came downstairs at 8ish in the morning the hotel staff assured me they had no idea that the pub across the street would be having a staff party that night. I'll tally this one up as a coincidence, and I'd still probably stay here again because the place is exactly what I look for in backpacking across the UK sort of trip. If this trip were with family, the review would be much more negative.

    Homely but worn

Nice homely pub/hotel. However the bits we saw when staying needed a bit of TLC. It is a lovely old building though.

A lovely old building but in sore need of some TLC. Bowls along the hallway to catch drips from water damaged ceilings. T Hot taps in my bathroom constantly running and one tap was very loose. On the plus side, staff very good and breakfast was lovely.

Great little hotel. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. Noises from the bar and street can be heard in the rooms. Everyone was kind and breakfast was great. We stayed here as it was extremely close to Stonehenge.
